I seldom make public recommendations about products or places. I have been "playing" with cars for 60 years and have had many run ins with various folks of dubious intent. I feel I must sing the praises for this dealership. They bent over backwards to make me happy with the deal and far exceeded my expectations of how the place would handle my needs! I was about to abandon them when a new management team moved in and put all my fears and issues aside. The new team is a family that is Christian based in their approach to selling a product and work hard to provide satisfaction to each individual. The "hard sell" is no longer there, they applied a $2K rebate that Ford implemented that I had not found, it could have just as well been put in their pocket with me none the wiser. Bottom line, if you want to make a fair deal, feel welcomed and comfortable see the folks at HullDobbs Ford in Birmingham, AL. 205 854 2222. Ask for Charlie Martin, he will hook you up with a knowledgeable sales person (Bryon was mine). that knew his stuff!

believe it or not, they don’t have the option to “pocket” a rebate if they wanted to do so. congrats on the new vehicle though.

It means they are honest in their approach to the product they are selling. No switch and bait, no hidden cost, no dealer "good deals" that add to the bottom line. Every penny in the final contract is up front, the invoice is shown when asked for and most of all no "shiny, boisterous" sales persons chasing you around. You are greeted with a warm smile, hand shake and how can I help you ? If you are just looking they say "thanks, let me know if you have any questions" and walk away. I would trust them to be fare with my daughters.

I'm curious why you chose them instead of the other, more well known Ford dealer in Birmingham (Town and Country Ford)?
Separate and unrelated, I used to live in Birmingham from mid-2008 through late-2011. Despite it being dubbed the "murder capital of America" at the time and having the mayor and much of city council hauled off by the FBI for fraud, I actually enjoyed my time there.

I had done business with Jim Skinner Ford since moving into the area in 95. I grew to develop a personal relationship with Jimmy and a couple of the sales folks. He ordered my 2008 Shelby GT500 in Dec of 2007. Agreed to sell it to me at MSRP (500s were still 10 - 15 over MSRP at that time). In January I got a call from him, he said a fellow has offered me 10K it I would sell the car to him. Told Jimmy, no I wanted it. He could have turned around and sold it to that guy but I took delivery of it in early March. He of course sold the store when it was time to retire. The sales manager stayed on with the new owner(s) over the past few years, almost called it quits over some practices that he didn't like. The new guys came in and turned the store back into what it was when Jimmy was there.

As far as Town and Country goes, when looking to get the Shelby I called them, was told it would be a MSRP deal. Got there, low ball offer on my 03 Cobra, 5K over MSRP for the Shelby and had trouble getting my keys back after rejecting their "deal". Never looked back.

I live in the area between Center Point and Trussville. It was in unincorporated Jefferson County until the powers to be decided to see us incorporated into either Clay or CenterPoint. I was in McWane Science Center as Director of Facilities for ten years. After I retired there is no reason to go there so I don't!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but @fatBatman has already taken us there. - My Mom was part of the first graduating class from Banks and I still have an aunt living a few turns off Edwards Lake Road.

The wife and I plan to retire in Pell City, so chances are we'll see you at Barber in the Shelby's.

I'm just off Old Springvale Rd, and then just off Mary Vann, on the end of a dead end street. If you come to my house you're seriously lost or there on purpose! Nope, Shelby is gone, too old to go to jail (77). My immature ways would have put me there as I can't resist an acceleration contest!

Bah! and Humbug! A couple of weekends ago I was on a dealer's lot with my 80+ y/o dad. He's looking for an AMB SCSB with a 5.0 to give a 3/5-drop before installing the supercharger. - Just because you get older doesn't mean you have to grow up!
