My 2022 F150 Platinum BAP arrived at the dealership on June 24th. Stopped by the dealership to look at the truck and they were servicing the vehicle. Made arrangments to pick up the truck on June 28th. When I got to the dealership all the stickers were still on the windows along with the seat plastic wrap along with the protective coating on the informant screen. The truck was dirty on the outside and the windows were filthy also the mileage to empty was 12 miles. I raised holy hell with the sales person and told her this was a piss poor way to pick up a brand new $80000 truck. They eventually washed the truck with a garden hose and gave me a gas certificate to fill the tank sales person said you know Ford does not reinverse us for this. I have bought many new vehicles over the years and have never had this happen before I couldnt believe they wanted me to drive off the lot with a empty tank. It ended up costing $150 to fill the tank with gas at $5.10 a gallon. I have known the owner for years just really disapointed. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I had very good experience with Lithia Ford of Idaho Falls. Delieverd clean, full tank, and with only 6.8 miles on the odometer... They handled the paperwork quickly and with little fuss. They knew I was eligible for a Ford Veterans Program that I hadn't heard of... and gave me the discount no sweat... That was a year ago, I've found their service people to be sharp and knowedgeable with their service advisors reliable.

Nope. Sounds like you need to look for a new dealer.

No excuse for that. Prep after receipt of new car is literally their job.

hmm
wait for your ford survey
a CLEAN vehicle is a requirement of the dealer as well as a full tank of fuel and makign sure you at least have a basic knowledge of systems and safety, plus making sure you know how to use ford pass and your vehicle is connected to ford pass.

no reason dealer delivered a dirty empty vehicle
my previous dealer delivered on a late sat afternoon after we went a few back and forth about numbers
the salesmen had to wash the truck and go get it fueled up as the porters dont work past noon
the dealer has a tunnel car wash so the sales guy just had to vacuum and wipe dry any remaining water.
my last truck the 22 150 they had it ready friday night and we took delivery of a clean, cool and fueled truck on sat

My sales person really didnt know a lot about the workings of the truck fortantley I did a lot of research and studying on how to use the systems and the ford pass. Blue cruse is another story I am still studying on that one. The dealership is a small town operation in business for over 100 years closest car wash is about 30 miles away. I will certanily be dinging them on the ford survey.

That is just pathetic and sad! I would have not taken it. And I would have set up another date to take delivery, when they thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed the truck, and made sure it was spotless, and full of fuel…put in by them. They need to be reported to Ford, and you need to tell Ford how inconsiderate, and careless they were with your new truck and your business. That’s completely UNACCEPTABLE.

Picked mine up 6/20/22. Truck was spotless, not a spot on it, tires all shined up with Tireshine, and interior clean as a whistle. Windows all cleaned inside and out…it was gorgeous.

I am totally outraged for you. I am super meticulous, so I look to see if they took the time and care to clean the new vehicle properly when I take delivery. I tell them(my dealer) up front before I take delivery, that it needs to be spotless inside and out, and look like it came off the showroom floor…PERIOD.

You need to give them hell. Drop those bums and find another dealer. What disrespect on their part.

Unfortanely that was the only day I could get a ride to the dealership had already sold my previous truck the day before. I try to keep my trucks very clean and I don't mind shinning them up and do a thurough cleaning. What really frosts my ass is the empty fuel tank there's no need for that.

There was no need for any of that. That is abysmal. Drop that dealer for sure. And give the worst report you can.

Hope you enjoy the new truck??.

On the other hand….i told my dealer not to touch the truck beyond their safety PDI. I am detailing it myself and didn’t want a min wage worker washing my truck with god knows what and putting a load of micro swirls/scratches in the paintwork.

And they didn’t touch it. looked like crap driving it home, but I knew the paintwork was pristine.

On the plus side they filled up my 36 gallon tank with liquid gold! That was a nice surprise.
