truck was fixed and we never ever ever had issue with that dealer. apologies all around, yada yada

not sure if techs got hammered, but i am sure it was ugly afterwards.

we always had loaners right up when ever truck had to come in for service. remember the taurus wagons?? we had one of a weekend so we could tow our boat to the ramp. :ROFLMAO:
which in 92 was very rare, it only had 2 warranty issues and repairs over its ten years of ownership
one ac fix and one Throttle position sensor.
Remember it? I keep my eye out for 1st gen Taurus wagons. Seems there's none around or for sale.

Don't ask why I want one......

I read an article recently where a woman took her new car in for an oil change at a dealer and the tech test drove it and got in an accident. The dealer told her we are not responsible and to call her insurance which she did. It's now months later, still making her payments, car is sitting, and nobody wants to step up. Talk about being pissed.
Tomball Ford in Tomball, Texas I believe is where it had happened.

So figured out why the tech drove it 40 miles....

I asked the advisor if they had a way to disable trailer routing in the factory nav as my free trial expired. I mentioned it was annoying to get the height restriction warning even when towing a utility trailer... So the tech decided to drive it to some underpasses. Shockingly he couldn't replicate the issue. Ya think? Maybe it's cause there was no trailer hooked up. And I never said the was an issue with it malfunctioning. I just wanted to know if they could disable it.

I also showed the advisor the dash warning I got saying the taillamp indicators for my OnBoard / scales / Smart Hitch weren't working. (The LED indicators that go up as you add weight)

I noted on the paperwork the tech said they examined the tail lights and marked down that the running lights, signal lights and brake lights all functioned normally. Could not replicate issue...

I had an incident much like powerboatr. I was stopping in at a McDonald's for lunch and noticed a friends Jeep Cherokee in the drive through. He had custom plates. Only there are acouple service techs in it.

When I got back to base I asked him what is truck was in the shop for. Strange look from him and he asked how I knew. I tell him and when he goes to pick it up the service manager assures him I was mistaken as they would never allow such. Even calls the tech over who also denies.

So he drops the issue, walks out to his truck and finds a McD's french fry container in the console.

Service manager tried to explain it away. But really didn't know what to say.

My F-150 was at the dealer today for the deep sleep mode battery snag. The sheet says they test drove it afterward. Now the funny thing is the odometer shows exactly 0.2 km LESS than when I arrived. I’m puzzled…

Maybe they used the Ferris Bueller method?

Just a heads up for all everyone mentioning the dash cameras. Some techs will just disconnect the power from it while in the garage. I've got one In every vehicle and have had it happen a few times at different garages.

There is a diference between the dealer stating that they are not liable and not actually being liable. Leaving an item for repair is THE classic example of a bailment, and the dealer's lawyers would tell them as much within 90 seconds. She should sue them.
