To all my DC metro people, looking to get my new wheels & tires from my previous truck balanced but every mainstream shop I talk to claims they can’t properly balance “oversized” tires (even though the exact same tires and wheel size were balanced on my previous truck at said shops).

For reference, wheels are 20x9 +18mm and tires are 295/60 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T, ~34”.

Any suggestions, locally? Suburban Maryland is preferred (270 corridor) but willing to explore other options in the area to get this done. Thank you!

34" is not oversized. If you're willing to drive to Fredericksburg or Martinsburg, go to a Discount Tire.

Tell me about it. My initial reaction to “we’re not able to balance oversized tires” was since when were 34s considered oversized? Smh, thanks.

In the DC Metro area, the shop to go to is Radial Tire. They'll match TireRack prices and have lifetime balance and tire repair.

The guys from PCA and BMW CCA use them all the time.

I have 35's on my '87 F-250 and when I replaced the old 16½ tires the previous owner had put on it I made sure to get them road force balanced. It was the biggest game changer I've ever come across in even a slightly larger tire. What used to be a truck that was going WAHHHH down the highway was now comfortable and quiet. Call around and find a shop that'll road force balance these tires. You'll love it.

Discount not only balanced my 35"s, they sold them to me as well. Never heard nonsense like that. Go to Discount Tire.

I’m more in Virginia but Casey’s Automotive in sterling had my 34” Recon Grapplers smooth as butter on the first try

Trick Truck in Frederick (not Kensington) would be a good place to call and ask.

When I swamped to my AT3s, Moises at Rockville Tire was amazing. Honest, reasonably priced, and quick. Small family owned shop and great service.
