This happened to me a few days ago on the way to work. Terrified me and was extremely loud. Had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. Hate this for everyone, but glad to know it's not just me. It hasn't happened again, but dang was it loud and hard to drive with it happening. @Ford Motor Company , any ideas? 2022 F150 Platinum.
Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear you had the issue too.

Here is the doc I found showing the fuse box diagram. I wrapped a small zip tie around the fuse puller tool to keep it secured to the amp fuse.

Thanks.
Yeah, as soon as you replied I opened the Fuse section from the .pdf manual and printed it (pages 490-498 I believe, or 499) and it will be placed in the glove box for ease access :D

Exact same thing happened to me in my 2021 Raptor yesterday. Had my dog in the car. My ears still hurt. Its at the the dealer now. Ford knows about it but there is no fix. I guess they need to do some type of software upgrade, but they said stay off of apple car play. I'm nervous to even drive the truck and thank god I didn't have my 5 month old in the car. I have videos as well but again they do not give the actual volume any justice. Please keep us updated.

Sorry to hear that - it's crazy how loud it is though huh? I thought for sure there would be speaker damage but mine seem to be ok. Hasn't done it again since that one time and I use car play every day. I still don't fully trust it either.

That's good the dealer told you Ford knows about it. Hopefully they can root cause it and get an update out before this causes a crash. Thanks for posting!

Mine happened when the truck wasn't even started, so CarPlay wasn't a factor. I wonder why they made that statement.

My truck was done at the factory and it took 4 months just to get a chip. Not sure if you guys had a similar experience and if this problem has to do with that. The dealer told me its only been happening with the new ford sync 4 system but sounds like a very rare occurrence. They have several inquires into Ford and are still waiting on answers. This truck has been plagued with issues since its been ordered so I feel better its not just my truck. I'll let you know what the dealer says when I hear back from them.

Mine was another customer's order so I don't know how long it took. The dealer couldn't get in touch with whoever ordered it and I just happened to be there to order mine the day it hit the time limit (November of last year). It was almost exactly what I was planning to order so I just got lucky with the timing. That was a weird day... I was not prepared to drive home in a new truck but it worked out great. The audio thing is the only issue I've had with it - otherwise it's been great so far.

I had the same issue. Sound occurred for 10 seconds and stopped on its own. System would not respond to volume input. Very loud! Once the sound stopped it blew the speaker in my passenger headrest. Still waiting for my appointment with Ford to get this fixed. This happened months ago.

This just happened to me. My ears currently kill. Had to pull over and just park my car. I have a 21 Raptor.
That is a lawsuit waiting to happen…

I had it happen 2 times. Once after a restart after a carwash. The second after a heavy rain.

This same thing happened to me, loud pop, followed by the loudest static in the world. Volume knob was stuck at 0 and clicking the power for the stereo did nothing. Turning the truck off, opening and closing the driver door stopped the noise. But starting the truck again immediately started it again. I thought it might be connected to my phone because it happened around the same time android auto connects so I restarted my phone and that seems to have fixed it. Booked service for this Friday. 2022 powerboost platinum with the b&o sound system. Ears are still ringing as I write this. I'm scared to drive it anywhere at this point because of how jarring it is. Ford absolutely needs to look into this. Sounds to me like it's an issue with the upgraded sound system, and may or may not be related to Android auto and Apple car play.

I'm glad I just have the lowly stock system. No issues so far.
