They've combined the inverter and DC converter into a single module with its 48v architecture.

Inverter Side (center components)
- 48amps 240v sustained (11.5kW)
- 110 amps peak inrush

DC-DC (left side of image)
-3kW sustained 48v output

All jealousy aside that is very cool. Amazing how small it is!

Indeed, there's not an EV truck on the market or announced that I'd own to replace the PB (or any truck for that matter announced).

Just a fan of tech, especially when it overlaps. PB and CT both have DC/DC, HV AC, AC inverter.

I completely agree and thank you for bringing us details like that of this new EV.

Funny, voice switching systems have used 48V for decades and decades.

Right, I believe the number from tesla CT engineers were that only 15% of their devices consumed 90% of the power. All computer chips run from .7v to 3 volts which already require voltage stepdown. Only motors like windows / power steering / HVAC blower need new designs.

Another cool feature of the CT is that where you 'jump' it if the 48v battery is dead will eat everything from 12v to 48v so there's no jump starting worries. Even though EVs don't exactly jump start, the LV system (12 or 48v now) is the brains and the vehicle is 'dead' if that system has no power.
