Huuuuggggge shout out to @JHForman812 for helping me on this mod. Very helpful and very easy to put the lightings together.

Additional, I added the media bin sliding door with new bin that have the cutout for the light.

Did you have to order a new bin in able to install the sliding door? I was wanting to do the same to my truck. If so, could you please share a part number? Many thanks.

If you're talking about the media bin lighting then no. Depending on the year your truck is, you may just have to cut a small hole in the plastic (super easy).

I was more so curious how he got the sliding door cover installed (as shown in attached picture). If it was a simple installation or if he had to change other parts to be able to install it.

Yep! The new bin will have two slots on the side and you will also need new top console trim panel to accommodate the sliding door.

ML3Z-1504608-BH (sliding door assembly) (mixed of black vinyl and light oil rubbed bronze) Use the middle number and it will show you in different colors.

ML3Z-1513594-AA (media bin for sliding door and cutout for lighting without wireless charger)

ML3Z-15045A76-BB (console trim panel to accommodate the sliding door)

4x W705093S403 (nuts retainers)
4x W718481S450B (screws)

Optional is the new media bin mat since original mat is smaller. But I didn’t feel like getting new mat.

I was test fitting before I put all of the panels back together. I was pretty shocked to myself when I opened the box for the new bin and it does have the cutout for the media bin lighting.

Thank you so so much! I have been doing research galore trying to figure out part numbers and what was needed. One step closer now 🙌🏽

If I knew how to add the lighting I would. Honestly baffles me why that wasn’t already just there to begin with. Maybe in the future that’ll be a project to take on.

I’m guessing there’s a potential difference between ML3Z-15045A76-AB and ML3Z-15045A76-BB. I ask because I had ordered the “-AB” version…🙃

No problem at all, glad to help out too. I have the same reaction too on the bin beacuse I thought I would have to make a hole but Ford already took care of that.

There are huge difference on both part numbers. If you already ordered the AB, I would ask for an exchange to BB. AB series is what we have on the XL to XLT. BB is correct beacuse if you look closer to the end, BB have very thin panels that will clear for the door.

Ahhh, ok. Good to know. Yeah, I’ll have to return and exchange then.

TheDudeee is spot on. I just did this myself on my 2022 XLT. I also confirmed the same console trim panel number from tilefordude. I went ahead and got the new mat. Unfortunately for me I had already ordered a lid off ebay and it wasn't exactly black. It had some copper and gold colors mixed with it. Those colors didn't show in the ebay picture, and it's my fault for not asking the seller. So, I painted my sliding lid a flat black using Duplicolor for Vinyl. The end result was good.

The members of this forum are awesome in helping others out.

I hope to contribute a little when I get my project completely done. I'm going to attempt to add a red LED light behind the door reflector and have it come on when the door is open. I already made, and tested, a circuit using a normally closed solid state relay and current limiting diodes.

Yeah, I’ve definitely learned quite a bit just from exploring through the forums and see the cool stuff people are doing.
