Cup holder light installation / media bin light / glove box light / ambient lighting change

here is the ambient door light in my 23 King Ranch, not sure if they used to have more. It just lights the small cubby below the armrest

The upper you’ve got in that pic is the standard for trims which get ambient lights. The door light being referred to above is for a second light over the larger lower storage space on the bottom of the door panel. You also lack that light, but it was standard on 21’s.

For folks who have added the original ambient front door lights (ML3Z-13C724-A / ML3Z-14A318-G) back, what did you use for screws to mount the light?

#8 x 1/2 sheet metal screws ($1.39 12 pack @ Homedepot) are the budget go to.

#8 x 3/8 thread forming and M4 x 10mm thread forming screws are closest to OEM. for former is less than half the later. $8 for 50 at Mcmaster-Carr

no, my truck is an xlt so I don’t have any of the oem connections in the doors. I want to but it seems like a lot more work than I wanna do right now.
