just for people showing up. i did the method of removing the dash trim, the radio trim and the trim next to your knees. i had to unbolt the HVAC (4 bolts IIRC) and then slid my storage console out. it was easy to swap cupholders since it was out. i was then able to easily pop in the storage light as well. Slid console back into place and hooked up the cupholder to the harness along with the storage light. bolted the hvac back and snapped it all back together. daunting at first b/c yes, its a new expensive truck, but wasnt as bad as i expected. went in with just the video linked in this thread, bought the metal trim tool someone linked and a microfiber. if i didnt have the issue i had with the radio trim i could have been done in about 45min

I mean, I’ve never been to Cali other than my plane stopped there on the way to Antarctica haha

I mentioned it earlier, the radio trim kicked my ass. The LAST clip (started on passenger side towards drivers side) would not budge. I got frustrated and almost quit. I snapped the radio trim back on and started over. It cost me easily 20-30 min haha but for some reason it came right off. Again, I’m no professional, I frustrate easily and It took me around an hour.

The only thing I broke this last weekend was one of those green clips in that exact same spot. I was replacing my HVAC module and runnin some wires

Speaking of which, it was posted somewhere in this thread I think, but I couldn’t find it, does anyone have the part number for those green clips?

I had the same thing and it cost me a lot of time as well. I could not get the last clip so I put the trim fully back on and started over. The clips Ford is using now are seriously strong.

As cheap as these are, good idea for anyone removing the sync trim to get a bag of 4 with their parts. These clips are used elsewhere ;)

Ok, got the full list again...

(Door cubby led part numbers)
ML3Z-13C724-C
ML3Z-13C724-B
ML3Z-13C724-A
ML3Z-14A318-G

Seems like the prices went up for the parts, but the shipping went down...LOL. Looks like I can get them for around $55 each now... one for $23 for some reason (which is what I seem to remember them all being when I looked months ago).

But the shipping instead of $100 is now only $23, which is more reasonable.

I did try parts.ford.com, but no local dealers were listed and the first I tried (about an hour away) was $80/part. I tried a few others and the same. Even the one I tried by going to their site was $20 more on parts.ford.com.

Would be worth it if I were paying with ford points, so definitely worth it if you can find a local shop with reasonable prices.

I think I'm going to just order them.
hey there

how did this mod go for you? Did you have the connectors already in the door? I’m looking at these for my xlt but the first door panel I pulled off didn’t have an unused plug laying around. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Assuming you have the the upper light, there are no secondary plugs. The above parts have both the upper and lower light combined, you are just replacing the existing upper with and using its plug. Ford deleted the lower light bar from the harness to make a few extra bucks.

He has an XLT, most likely going to require running wire to the connector in the door.
