@LetsbeFrank FIXED!! Ford originally installed some INCORRECT 110v power outlets in the left rear of the truck bed. Dealership did a swap and it ALL works normal again!

Your timing is on point! My truck hits the shop tomorrow for them to replace the rear differential pinion seal.

FYI, I was having similar issues with my inverter along with a number of other electric gremlins and a new H8 AGM battery cured them all. Not sure if this is your issue, but worth check voltage and battery.

If the repair at the dealership doesn’t work I’ll give this a go. Currently waiting to see the “electronics” guy

FYI, I was having similar issues with my inverter along with a number of other electric gremlins and a new H8 AGM battery cured them all. Not sure if this is your issue, but worth check voltage and battery.

Did you have to get a larger strap for the H8 and if so where did you get it?

Nope. Current strap worked fine. The battery was 3” longer but no wider than the much smaller stock battery. I have a 2021 3.5eb fyi. Not sure the design on other trucks.

I'm thinking of buying a portable electric winch to load equipment in the back of my bed. It is a rather small one with a max of 750lbs. The equipment I need is only about 225lbs. Do you think the inverter would handle that? I'd probably only need 20sec or so out of it. I'm inclined to say no, but if not it is a wasted idea.

You'd need to share the specs of the winch. If it draws more than 3A @ 120V, it's probably not going to work. I'm inclined to say no, but that's only a guess.

The inrush of starting current will most likely shut down the inverter. Inrush current could be as high as 300 times running current. Winch motors are not that CLEAN of a motor. I would look at a 12 AVT winch and a battery. Could charge the battery from the 7 pin trailer plug.

Can you power it off of your trailer connection plug instead?

I have a 2022 with the same issue, power outlets only work at night and not during the day. So the fix is replacing the bed outlet?

Yes. The bed outlet repair fixed my issues.
