Although I am happy with my overall MPG, I am terribly disappointed with the 6.5 MPG I get when towing a 7x14x7 cargo trailer! Trailer with a golf cart inside so total weight is less than 2800#... Yes, the trailer is a bit taller but dang! 6.5 in Florida? What kind of MPG are y'all seeing when towing?

What speeds are you driving? You might want to lock out 8/9-10th gear so it doesn't go into boost.

I run in the mid 60's in 8th or 9th (sometimes) Not pushing it at all.. trying to be conservative .

My 2021 3.5 EcoBoost FX4 with 3.31 axle gets about 10 mpg towing my 4000# TT. I have the turbo boost gage displayed all the time on dash screen. When normally not towing, the turbo boost climbs only when accelerating or climbing a hill. While towing, the turbo boost is always on. Even cruising on flat highway with no wind. I think this is the cause of the MPG loss.

I find the same thing.

I get 10-12 towing more weight with 35"s. More aerodynamic load though. Wind resistance is the enemy once you get up to speed.

2021 XLT Screw 5.0,4x4,302Asport,
Seems that single digits is pretty common amongst Hogboost (Sorry I'm amazed at the number of MPG concerns from 3.5 owners) when they are towing. My worst with my 5.0 is 11.9 towing my wheeling truck at 70(No officer I stay at or below the limit)

Yup Boats are way more aerodynamic than RVs and car haulers.

Totally ok with the mileage being worse given the performance difference. The old joke is true, they should call it Eco/Boost, because it's or the other, not both.

I got about 13.8 towing this load with a 3.5. I kept max speed around 60mph

Boats and trailers that light and small basically just "hide" behind the truck. I got 17-18 towing my little skiff down to the coast and back last summer.

Holy shmit! 6.5 mpg....what kind of mileage do you get not towing? Was it really windy or something? That does seem awfully low.

I've never seen below 10 mpg pulling a 6500 lb TT. With my 3.5 EB, 3.55 Max Tow. I typically tow in tow mode, will lock out 10th if I'm not going over 60mph, otherwise I just let it do it's thing.

How much to rent your rig?
I’ll pay big bucks to watch my wife back that combo up! ?
Oh dang, I didn't realize it was a trailer pulling a trailer, that's some redneck engineering right there.

This. Mine is the same. The OP might try running 91 octane or higher as well, as per the manual for best engine performance.
