Concerns on the v8 over the 3.5 v6

In 2015 I went looking for an F150 with a V8. I definitely did not want the 3.5EB. After I could not find a truck with the V8 & the options that I wanted, I bought the Ecoboost. 216k trouble free miles later, I have ordered another. Lots of quiet horsepower & torque, with excellent fuel mileage.

A lot could be my age and experiences with V8 engines since my first vehicle. I definitely prefer the exhaust note of the V8. I think for other, the ability to build the coyote engine is appealing. I also believe others think no matter how cool the 3.5 is, it's still not a V8. I would not turn either engine away.

I ordered the 5.0. The 3.5 might be a good engine, but still sounds like a blender....cant make a 6 sound good.

I would typically agree, but have you have heard a GT or a Raptor in Baja Mode in person? Insane exhaust notes.

I have. Still sounds like a 6.

From what I undertsand the 5.0 is the only model of engine in the F-150 lineup that does not "pipe in" fake augmented exhaust sounds from the speaker system. Maybe it's just elevated in those special modes on the raptor.

Watching a couple videos i believe this feature is only turned off in special cases (like when a door is open). It still does it if you have the radio turned off.

All that to say, my 5.0 starts to growl at 2700 RPM and it makes me very happy lol

Well, I like the 3.5EB over the 5.0. Quiet and quick, especially when I grumpy looking old man behind the wheel and beat the S&$T over these smart a!! young kids with their shopping carts with fart cans on them.

legend has it, that it can be turned off with Forscan through the ACM... it used to be 727-01-01 but not sure what it is now

i could really notice it in a mustang that i rented down in vegas last year. kind of reminded me of when i used to do this...

You mean specifically a V 6......right?

Cuz not all 6's are a V and there's one 6 that can make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, in a good way.

I've heard the Raptor in Baja Mode from outside the vehicle, full throttle. It's amazing. Not as impressive in this video as it is in person...but still cool.

I fear you are wasting your effort to garner support regardless. A GTR, A Ford GT, or the new Raptor,...... None will sound appealing to a V8 only fella. It's just the way it is.

I get it actually. But I'm glad I'm not programmed that way. Probably from being a motorcycle enthusiasts for more than 60 years? I love the music that many variations of the ICE can play.
