Thanks, so I just bought a $40 cable with built in auto switch... Is that useless? I haven't opened it yet... Was gonna couple that with Forscan, thought that's all I needed?

It'll likely be fine for Forscan, but if you wanted to update module software with FDRS, it won't work.

My dealership was finally able to get mine to start accepting updates so it can be done through them. They just have to be willing to spend the time.

Just want to BUMP this thread and say THANK YOU once again to @rugedraw for allowing me to borrow his Mongoose cable over the weekend. I was able to complete all updates on Saturday in about 6 hours. The IPMA update took 2.5 hours of that, just like expected. I was multitasking all day (painting a bedroom in my house), which worked great. Just follow the first two posts of the FDRS thread and boom, done. No drama. Went back in the mail today. Will cost me about $55 in roundtrip shipping (plus a little more for rugedraw ) + $50 2-day FDRS license. Thanks again
