I traded my 21 xlt 302a in for a Jeep Gladiator in Feb and I already regret that decision and have convinced the wife to let me trade back into a F150 as long as it doesn’t cost me anymore money. So my problem is based on what my current trade in value is I can get a 2021 2.7 Lariat sport with 55,000km with a questionable amount of frame rust or a brand new xlt 300a. I have been going back and fourth in my mind wether or not I need all the bells and whistles. Not sure what route to take.

I’d go for the 300A or 301A and maybe try to get xplan through mustang club of America or other route

you can always add heated wheel and other stuff later

What’s the power plant in that xlt? For my money it’s the XLT all day long. You can add almost everything you would want with the tools you probably already own and advice from those that have already added it on this forum. Add some katzkin and you have better leather than the Lariat. Get the XLT and ask for Katzkin for Christmas! Win win

What cab/body and engine/drivetrain do you need? I think once you know what you need you can figure out what you want...

I'm curious, what was your issue with the Jeep Gladiator? My wife likes 'em but I refused to get anything that doesn't come in a 2 door. Thanks.

What's your budget (monthly payment, all in, etc)?

I would want the Lariat. I like my XLT 302A but I would have liked memory seats, heated steering wheel, and the digital cluster. You can try asking in the VIN thread about it to see how far behind on updates it is.

Are you willing to travel for a deal on a new truck?

The lariat is a 2.7. I could swing a 2.7 or 5.0 on the new xlt

I’m 6’2” and I feel like I am bending over at an awkward body angle just to see out the windows. ( didn’t seem that bad when I was test driving it and when I first got it but over time I can no longer stand it). The same for putting kids in and out. I knew when I first got it it was going to be tighter but just so annoying when the kids can’t reach their own seatbelts in their booster Seats.

Locally they are giving decent deals with the xplan I get through work and the lariat for the same price is 2.5 hours away.

Ah okay. It's a bit far but it might be worth checking in with Grimsby Ford. My coworker bought his F150 there and they're doing 10k off F150s right now.

Interesting. I traded my Gladiator in on a F-150 Rattler in March. I enjoy the power, smoothness and roominess of the F-150 but miss my Jeep. It was a much better off road vehicle.
But then I didn't have to haul a family around and will admit Jeeps are not great family vehicles.
In your position I would go with the new XLT.

They should give us test drives in multiple option time allotments. It'd even be OK to charge for anything longer than say.... 24 hours.

A week for an XLT 302A at $200 VS a Platinum or KingRanch at $300.

You could live with each for a week and have FAR LESS chance of buyers remorse or wondering if you made the right decision.

I know. I'm dreaming.

XLT 301A here
ordered it in August of 2020
5.0 4x4 SuperCab
only options I ordered with it were
locking rear. (3.31)
step boards.
Console/buckets. Tan/Black int.
HDPP 18” wheels

More than happy with it. Just enough fluff to keep one comfortable, and none of the really unnecessary bells and whistles. (Been driving base v8/manual trans since the 70s, so this is like a Lincoln to me.)

Plan on keeping this many years, but I still tool about in my 98 K1500, and still have the 79 c10 I bought new when I was still 18. The 79 has been retired and parked over 10 years now tho.
