Cold start awful noise from engine / transmission- what is it??

agree. My 2022 whines and no one told me about that when I was looking into buying one. I should have listened to my Dodge RAM friends.

The 10R80 makes a little noise. I'll take that over a rattle trap Ram any day of the week.

Neighbor has a 2021 Laramie with 4500 miles on it and he's already had it in 4 times to get rattles fixed. Drove a fully loaded Pacifica PI-Hybrid with 1800 on it when we drove off the rental lot and that thing was a rattle trap. Yeah Dodge's powertrains are solid.. Interiors? Not so much.

Thank you for making me feel better. Not many have been able to do that so far through this ordeal. I do know that Ford corporate is aware of the issue. Fingers crossed, maybe they'll come up with some sort of fix to it down the road. I'm glad I brought it back to the dealership and had a Case number assigned by Ford. Again, appreciate your words.

I don't think I have the exact same issue, but there is some sort of metal rattle that I hear during start up that goes on and off every 1-2 seconds during cold start up. It usually persist for at least until the motor gets to operating temperature. I've already checked the oil and it is at the right level. Going to try and get a recording tomorrow in the morning that I can post. Hopefully it is just normal!

Another thing that I had was a grinding noise very similar to the IWE actuators that happens during sometimes and seemingly randomly. I could feel it in the wheel when it happened and it also felt like something was causing the front left wheel to stick and cause the vehicle to slow down. Happened 4 times during the first day I bought it and always after coming out of 4WD drive (high and low) but when I brought it back to the dealership we weren't able to repeat it. It has popped up 2 more times in the last few weeks but is to random for me to show them. Just install my dash cam so hopefully I can catch it and post a recording of the sound as well.
