I was just thinking today I may check my spare tire. I’m pretty sure I already did but I guess it’s possible it’s rattling when I hit a bump. Or could even be the spacer above the spare tire kind of like a heat shield of some sort. [if it has one that is] I’m just guessing until I can get it in the shop.

HI London, I heard something sound like metal to metal noise mostly running around 5 mph or less off and on the gas. After reading you and others with problem with some noise, I when under my truck to see if I find anything loose? I started on the passenger side first, didn't find anything loose. Drive shaft not loose, spare tire good? But on the driver side, the front leaf spring perch, I noticed that there's a plastic protection around the the sides and bottom of the gas tank. Right next to the leaf spring perch, I started to pushing the plastic around the gas tank, I hear something hitting 12" away towards the top hitting the plastic against tank? Thinking the protection cover plastic was flexing. I found a piece of clear tubing 1 " dia. 5 inches long and put the tubing between the plastic and gas tank right next to the front( lower part) spring perch. Pushed the plastic again not more hitting noise. Test drove for an hour, stopped and go, no more noise. YAY no more cling noise.....I am assuming that the plastic flexed just enough to make a noise against the tank, thinking the noise was metal to metal? I hope you can find your noise issue. I got lucky finding my noise.

Hey guys. New member, 2021 F150 RCSB experiencing the same popping/stressed metal noise. Started at 140 miles. Truck has been in for service, they have no idea. Ford recomemded new leaf springs and shackles, but they are not sure if that is the fix.
Will keep the thread updated when I make some progress.
Doing a vas lowering kit soon... different U bolts etc. We'll see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Roger! Mine does sound metal on metal as well. I have checked everything except for the gas tank. I’ll check it out this evening. Any chance you can post a picture of the area on the gas tank you are referring to and where you put the tube.

What makes this even more frustrating is I can shake the truck side to side jump up and down in the bed and can’t get it to make the noise. Only when driving so it’s hard to pinpoint the location. Can anyone else simulate the noise?

The first picture has the clear hose push in, left of finger is extras, but right of finger about 2 " against plastic and gas tank (need to cut off extras)....I first push there where my finger is, I could hear something hitting on the second picture, towards the top hitting, the straight 1" flat plastic up and down hitting the top when I push the plastic on the lower part. It's a good foot and half where it was hitting. Hope this helps.... I was totally convince it was metal to metal noise that I heard too?

you can edit the post and delete the extras from the attachments box... I find it's easier on desktop than mobile... ymmv.

I can’t simulate the noise while the truck sits, only when driving.

I have a 2021 F-150 XLT with the Sport and tow packages.
When turning right into a parking lot or backing our of my driveway, if the weight shifts to the driver side, there is a loud clunk coming from the passenger rear. I only have 2500 miles on the truck. I took it in to get checked and the Service Manager told me it was normal due to a " floating " rear axle. I am not taking that as an answer. I have another appointment on Monday to get it looked at. They will have my truck for 72 hours to diagnose it.
