...With a different rear suspensions than previous year F150s, basically starting all over to figure out where the noise is coming from.
Aside from minor changes, the rear suspension on the 2021+ F150s, except for Raptor and Lightning, is the same rear suspension on every Ford half-ton F series truck since the F1 of 1948, so if any dealerships are telling anyone otherwise, they're full of it!

One thing that has happened though, is technicians are increasingly being trained better in diagnosis of electrical and computer problems at the expense of old school knowledge, like the simple act of chasing down a clunky rear end.

You might have had better luck with a mechanic from 1948 than one in a dealership service department of today, which is probably why the waits for service are so long, the dealers aren't always the best at retaining skilled workers and they probably only have one old head working for them that isn't just a parts changer that just knows how to read the diagnostic errors.

If it were me, the first thing that I would do is check the torque of every fastener holding the rear axle to the truck starting with the shocks. Since a clunking shock bolt will transfer the most noise into the cab.

Here is the audio of the clunking/popping noise I'm hearing while turning up a steep angle if it's anything similar to what you're hearing. As mentioned this was decently steep, I hear the noise on less steep inclines as well (sometimes pulling into my driveway) with a softer clunk that what I posted:

But yes same here, If I go straight over bumps I don't hear the noise.
I’m 99.9% sure that’s the exact same noise. I’ll try to post one later as well.

I had the same issue with my 1st 2021. Started at about 2,500 miles. Dealer had truck for 2-1/2 wks. And could not figure it out. They called me and offered for me to order another truck. Bad thing is my new one started doing it at about 700 miles ??‍♂. Here is video of 1st truck making the noise.

Yep that’s the noise I’m hearing. This has to be a somewhat common issue with these trucks. It’s driving me nuts, I just wonder what is causing the noise….

Mine does not have max tow. It’s the 5.0 Platinum FX4. It almost sounds like it’s going to cause damage long term due to the sound. It’s definitely a metal on metal sound. Sounds like the dang bed is loos but at first glance I didn’t see anything loose underneath

I was wondering if was bed rails flexing on the tail gate.

Mine does not have the max tow and it is the 5-1/2 foot bed. It sounds like the leaf springs hitting something to me like the u bolts are loose.
We thought the bed or leaf springs were causing it at first too. We locked and unlocked the LSD twice and it has not happened since… starting to think the rear was locking up and unlocking

This stopped the noise for me for about a day then came back. Not sure if it was a coincidence, maybe it is something with the rear end. So strange because it doesn’t do it if you hit the bump or dip going straight. Only happens when turning into the bump

Add me to the list too. 5.0 Platinum, 6.5 bed, trailer tow(not max), no FX4. My commute is around 90 miles and it only happens once a day, when I turn right to pull into my driveway coming home. The driveway is at a slight incline from the road. Been doing it since day one. Just turned 1,000 miles.

my exact issue. If they can’t fix it I guess you and I both need to move so we don’t have steep driveways.?
