I’ve just noticed when going ho or down hill and hitting bumps my 2021 is doing this. I suppose it’s time to call the dealer and give them the tsb number. Hopefully it gets taken care of.
Hey there! I can look into your F-150's noise concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info?

I have a 2019 F150 Sport 4x4 that I purchased in December with 30,000 miles and starting hearing the same noise in the rear at about 47,000 miles. I took it to the dealership for another issue with the drain plug for the AC, and requested they look at this as well. They state that this is normal and it has some slack in it?? I think they mentioned something about a C-Clip.. will continue to follow thread and take pictures from previous replies.

Went to dealer yesterday, tech said my truck has the floating rear axels, that’s what is causing the thumping
It didn’t do it when it was new, started on the 15k mark
I hope Ford can figure this out!

I have the same noise but it seems to happen when I get on the accelerator of off. It almost feels like new u-bolts were installed and not tightened properly. Took it to the local dealer and they said it was some plastic shims that go between the axle and the leaf spring. Two days later the noise is back again. Still trying to figure it out.

I've spent over a month now trying to research what seems like the same issue on my 2020 F350 6.7 Tremor. I did a Carli 2.5" leveling kit with new shocks in the rear and I started hearing this noise. Never touched the rear leafs. It only occurs driving up/down uneven surfaces like driveways, graded parking lots, etc. Always at crawling speeds. I'm curious if I need to attempt this rear block/clamp fix. Dealership can figure it out...

Turns out I had this same problem. Ford found a broken axle bolt. Now I'm receiving a whole new axle...It won't be here until Sept 5th though.

This is the noise I’ve been dealing with in the rear end. Dealership though it was coming from the driver side rear axle shaft. They replaced it. Just over 1000kms and not even a month later the noise is still there n driving me insane check out my video on YouTube
Any updates on this?? My truck has started making the exact sound and it seems like it’s getting worse.

I have a 2021 F150 3.5 with 3.55 locking rear axle, and it’s not a max tow package either.

Buddy it’s the axle shaft driver side. I had the dealership replace it twice and the Second time they replaced everything including the brake dust shield and all

Looks like I’ve got same issue. Brand new truck. 2022 F150 4x4 Powerboost with Max Tow Package. Happens when load shifts front to back when starting/stopping/changing direction. Got up under the truck and definitely along rear axle and not related to u bolts or leaf springs.

Calling dealership tomorrow. 370 miles and noticed it pretty much immediately upon delivery, but initially thought it might be a relay or something related to the hybrid system, but definitely don’t believe so now. It’s a metal-on-metal clank.

EDIT: When I say load shifting, there is no towing/hauling. I simply mean the load of the truck itself. Just wanted to clarify.

I had the same clunk noise in my Platinum, From Day 1, took i to the dealer, they re-torque the u-bolts and everything in the rear end. No solution. They told be there is a Recall for this. And that they change some parts. 10 month waiting and no news of the parts Yet.

But, in the meanwhile, I made a 1.000 miles trip, loaded with 2 motorcycles and gear. And after that, THE CLUNK NOISE DESPAIRED !!. No noise for 2 month now, I don´t know if this will last ... but ... (still waiting for the parts)

I hope this helps somebody

Best Regards
