Well the sales manager paid me a visit this evening. Seems my truck is still sitting in Dearborn. I was told they don't know why its not moving. No chip hold any longer. They believe it to be a hold up with lights? Not a recall since the truck has not been delivered yet, but its not being released for some reason.
Not much hope in seeing it this year. I am trying to decide if I should just look around for one similar to what I want or should I continue to wait. I'm willing to wager I will be one of those that is in the one year wait club.
Sorry to hear this. Hope we get ours soon

This has got to suck for you and anyone else waiting on delivery. But maybe its a good opportunity to check if the investment will pay any dividends other than "I got the truck I wanted". If this is being delivered to you as a '22 (disregard this post if its now a '23) in a few weeks it will be a year old and suffer some serious dollars in depreciation. A good way to check is pull up Kelly BB and price this same truck showing 1000 miles and used. Check the difference in what you're prepared to pay for the ordered truck and it could be a wakeup call to just start checking the local lots for '23s. When they don't have everything you'd like now begins the battle between heart and wallet.

I’m sorry that is never fun to hear. If you look around you might be lucky enough to find one that matches your build. I did actually close by on AutoTrader. I kept an eye on it for a few months and put a reasonable offer on it and they gave me a great deal on my trade. Year end is approaching and i would look around for sure.
I kept my current order and hope they will give me an extended warranty for waiting and also a great deal on my 2022 I found. I just really want my carbonized grey!

Yes this is true but there are pluses too. It should always be a low mileage cream puff. Insurance will be less on it. Ford price protects so that is about $4k-$5k right there if you ordered about 6+ months ago, and this is just based on MSRP. In my case I ordered from Granger to avoid MSRP.

I will pick up my truck (2022 PB Lariat 502a 4x4) on 12/28 and I ordered on 1/28. I just got done with finance at Granger and with incentives I will pay $59,800. My window sticker generated in August and the new MSRP for the truck was $73,000. That was $4k more than the MSRP of when I ordered. I think I looked through the 2023 order guide and a similar 2023 was about another $3k more than that.

Downside is the truck is a year old and I have not driven it yet, but there are upsides too, at least right now. This could change as the years go by and supply issues return to normal but for right now price increases, limited incentives, availability and most dealerships strictly selling for MSRP outweigh a single year depreciation.

And this is the battle that I have fought. I should be price locked for Dec of 21, saving $5k off of the window sticker MSRP. And as most know, 23's are even higher.
The truck I ordered has more stuff than what I can find on the lots for (what should be) less.
I will continue waiting and we will see what happens when it finally shows up.

Everybody talks about losing money because the model years are changing. I’ve looked on the lot to see what they have and there is nothing that compares to my truck. People keep talking about the loss of value for a vehicle like they’re going to sell it in a year or two. For what I’m getting this for, as in price, there is no comparison between my model year 22 versus model year 23. I plan on keeping This truck for 8 to 10 years at least. So for me it is not worth it to go out and find the model year 23 and lose what I have ordered.

Dealer just called and asked if I still wanted my truck because it is supposed to be arriving in the next 48 hours. News to me. I have no emails or updates on Fords tracker. Still says In Production. I told him no thanks, I'm good.

I always say I'm going to keep my vehicles for 6+ years, but in reality I don't keep them longer than 2-3 years

My truck's at Granger! Chip also just called. Says he hasn't seen it yet, but someone handed him the keys. They got 30 trucks this morning.
I won't go out until after Christmas now. LOL, too busy and airline tickets will be cheaper.

For you I get looking at my 23. I kept my last truck for 10 years. I loved that truck. I would be still driving it if it didn’t start to have problems. Nothing major but it was going to start to in my opinion. I had 189k miles on it.

Congrats!! Sounds like both of ours may have been on the same convoy! I received the confirmation email from Ashleigh at Granger. 30 trucks is a lot! I wonder how many are on the forum and if we'll run into anyone while picking up.
