Anybody have their truck shipped through BNSF? Having trouble finding a way to get tracking info for them.

I am pretty sure my truck is somewhere in WA so I’m hoping to get a call from my dealer here soon ?
I did, and unfortunately got no updates other than a couple updates on the VVR. It would look like it was sitting in a railyard for 3 weeks, and then pop up on a railyard across the country. It did that 3 times. And for some reason, it went from Chicago to Spokane to Montana, and then finally to Houston.

Merry Christmas everybody! I know there's other threads about this topic, but I've spent so much time on here with you guys - trying to decide about pulling the trigger on the extended warranty. I know Granger offers good rates. Thoughts? Thanks!

I’m kind of stuck on the same boat. I’ve considered adding extended warranty through them on the car loan but also considered adding it within the first year of ownership and paying it outright.

Check Flood Ford’s prices too, for some reason they were a little cheaper than Granger when I checked recently.

I’m getting one for sure. There is too much technology on these trucks and for me it’s just a peice of mind. Even if I never use it it’s a fraction of the cost of the truck.

Merry Christmas!

I personally prefer the Ford Extended Service Plan. It will cover standard maintenance and if anything goes wrong whereas an extended warranty just covers whatever is under the warranty. I was also reading an article saying that less than 20% of people ever actually have a warranty claim after their standard warranty is up. To me, if I’m going to pay for extra coverage I’d rather pay for something that will take care of maintenance as well, especially if you were already planning on doing those things at the dealer anyway.

I bought one through my dealership, they matched Granger prices after I showed him the website. They pushed back a bit but in the end wanted the sale. Come prepared and watch their reaction it is priceless.

I do both. The service plan pays for itself

I bought the 8yr, 125k miles warranty. Just felt like there is a lot of technology and random gremlins.

At the price offered by Granger, it seemed like a deal. My dealer tried but couldn't come close to matching the price.

Merry Christmas to you too!

The questions you have to ask yourself is what do you usually do with your vehicle, and how many miles a year do you typically drive. If you get tired of vehicles and sell or trade them in after 5 or 6 years, 60k to 70k miles, then it may not be as beneficial to you. On the other hand if you drive 20k miles a year then your high mileage for a 6 year old truck could be well worth it for you.

The electronics and other high tech on these PB's is unlike anything else. They also are not cheap so unless the truck has chronic issues, it will be worth keeping it for as long as possible. The ESP will help guard against major costs for a good chunk of the lifespan.

I drive about 5k a year now that I work from home, but I plan to drive more in the future. I went with the 10 year and 100k plan. This will probably last me the 10 years. I like to look at it this way. If I have this truck for 10 years and never need to use that ESP it will mean that I had a problem free, highly complex truck for 10 years. That is golden in my book, and instead of cursing that I may have wasted money on an ESP, I will be very grateful for the good fortune I had with this F-150.

Good luck with your decision and I know I am glad that I will have that ESP when I drive it off Grangers lot on 12/28. The clock on the ESP starts on the first day regardless, so the only reason to wait is to see whether you will like the truck and plan to keep it long term, or not like it and sell it in 3 - 5 years. Selling early you will not really benefit much from an ESP. Stay warm up there!
