Please read my explanation above. It will make it clear why Ford does not prioritize long delayed trucks as they really should.
I think most of us understand prioritizing the assembly line. I wouldn't want the line shut down and people laid off for a few weeks so that I could get my truck sooner. I do think Ford should be more transparent, especially with the people waiting since January, on what the actual plan for allocating the necessary parts needed to complete trucks. Im 10 weeks into this BS, I cant imagine being at 6 months!

I do need a truck & foolishly thought that if I ordered it several months before I really had to have it, I would get it in plenty of time. While I would like to have already received my truck, I don't need Ford to stop everything just to complete & ship it. I am not quite to that level of narcissist. But Ford must be more forthcoming with information, if they do not want to permanently alienate Customers in our position.

As crazy as it sounds, I understand the prioritization of the bottom line. Ford is a for profit business. On the other hand, as a business owner, with that in mind, I will never understand the obviously strictly enforced silence on the matter of delays!

The other issue I have is with the initial communication. Email received stated i would receive a production date once Ford had all the parts to build my truck. Received a production date of March 28th, I assume everythingneeded meanteverything. Decide to sell my truck based on that info. I figured worse case scenario would be truck in driveway in July, which fell into the 3 to 6 month window I received from my dealer.

I think with the backlog of all those partially built trucks sitting around Dearborn, there’s a good amount of job security for Ford employees. I could only assume that the trucks need to be put back on some type of assembly line to finish them up; though probably not as convenient as their standard run.

I drive by the abandoned arena where the Pistons used to play 2-3 times a week. GM has hundreds of pickups parked there. They show up over a few weeks and then suddenly big batches of them go away in a matter of a day or two. I have only ever seen a security guard on site. I suspect they go somewhere for installation of missing parts but doubt it is back to the assembly plant. It would be very difficult to get a vehicle back on the line midway through so there is likely a facility nearby dedicated to finishing and final inspecting vehicles on hold.

If it was seats, tail lights or grilles or some other parts easy to add they would do it in the lot weather permitting but probably not the more common electronics modules or something like a full dash panel.

I just commented on your other post, congratulations!
Thanks man. I hope the shipping isn't a cluster fuck though. As happy as I am to see movement, I can't help but be very weary.

No doubt, it seems like most trucks on chip hold get shipped pretty quick. Not sure why some trucks end up in the shipping purgatory...

I just entered my 4th shipping delay. My truck was ordered on 12/27/21, built on 05/5/22 and is now projected for 7/22 delivery. I am not optimistic. I find it astonishing that no one has any idea what the delay really is. The VVR indicates a rail delay, yet the window sticker indicates convoy transit. Is the truck sitting in the wrong queue because a typo in the system? I guess I am old school as it seems a phone call or email to the proper department would confirm / resolve things.

My truck began production on January 12th of this year, 6 plus months after my original order/trade date. At the time, all my modules populated but those starting with 754. Can’t tell you what specifically they are associated with but some claim telematics.
In any event, I routinely checked my modules for the last five plus months. On the day following my getting the 754 modules on June 25th I received notice that my truck was now built and it was awaiting shipment.
Of course it has been almost two weeks since then and no movement on my build. If Ford claims that it normally takes roughly 3 days to produce a truck, I now have to wonder how long it takes to ship (Ford says it normally takes 3 days to a week). It has now been 1 year and 5 days without a pickup.

It took Ford 3 months to finally ship my truck, after the email that said that the truck was built & should ship within a few days to a week. It has then spent a couple weeks in transit. I expect to pick it up from the dealer next week.

This is all crazy stuff. No rhyme or reason to it.

Mine was built on 5/29/22, after I ordered it on 10/23/21.

It was completed on 5/31, and shipped immediately after it was built on 6/2 . It took two weeks to get to the dealer on the truck, and arrived on 6/16.

I Picked it up on 6/20. Zero rust on any underneath parts due to it not sitting at all after production. I don’t get all this stalling at different points of production/and shipping???? ?‍♂?‍♂

I waited along time from ordering(almost 9 months)..but once it was built, it was shipped immediately. I’m glad that it worked out that way in my case.
