Well, here we are 3 months after the "Your truck has been built & is awaiting shipping. This next step should take a few days to a week" email, & the truck has not shipped. Do you really think that sending an email every 2 weeks saying, "In order to ensure your satisfaction, the delivery of your vehicle has been delayed until (2 weeks later)" for 3 months, while refusing to provide any further info is adequate for Customer retention? What do you need to know? Theres delays. Do you want an email everyday stating this? We get updated if there is a change to schedule.
As far as shipping, Ford needs updates from shipper to give to you. I highly doubt Ford tracks tens of thousands of shipments on a daily basis. You are better off tracking through shipper.
You are expecting software from dozens of shippers to update Fords software automatically every hour. Not very realistic.
I haven't received an update from Ford since the beginning of May. Any info I get is from contacting Ford myself. Km not sure why you feel the need to defend the way they are handling the situation. What do you need to know? Theres delays. Do you want an email everyday stating this? It's crazy to me that some here can't see the blatant dishonesty that Ford has been dishing out to its customers.Seems like some here needs that explanation.
Becauese some folks' expectations are ridiculous. You do not need to know where the train is every hour. You dont need to know what highway the truck is on. Just 1 example.I haven't received an update from Ford since the beginning of May. Any info I get is from contacting Ford myself. Yes ford is lying. As are all maunufactures. It's crazy to me that some here can't see the blatant dishonesty that Ford has been dishing out to its customers.
This thread is about chip holds. Your 1st response was in regards to my comment on generating dates that just get bumped. I don't want an update every day, I just want an update they can actually follow through with. Im on my 7th chip ETA for F's sakeBecauese some folks' expectations are ridiculous. You do not need to know where the train is every hour. You dont need to know what highway the truck is on. Just 1 example.
If you are on "chip hold", why would anyone expect an update every day? It sucks, yes. Do you actually think any manufacturer is not doing everything possible to get these filled?
I dont want ford wasting time and resourses telling people "still on hold" everyday.
I want them working the issue. And yes ford employee #1 conitunously bugging employee #2 what the procurement status is, is taking time away from working the issue.
Order a Tesla. All you know is when the car shows up. There is no tracking. There is no chat. No updates. We will call you when its here.
Chevy? You want an update, you have to contact Chevy.
Its been my experience that Ford does the most to keep people updated of any auto manufacturer. Are they perfect? No. Can they update/improve the software and hire 500 people to just tract orders and add all that infrastructure needed? Sure. Then everyone would be bitching about the price increases.
Yes, this is exactly where the whole "blame it on outside sources and vendors" comes in to play. While I can definitely see unforeseen events happening causing the chip delay that some have to be bumped because something didn't work out, but, 7 times? It didn't work out 7 times in a row? That's where I am calling bullshit. This thread is about chip holds. Your 1st response was in regards to my comment on generating dates that just get bumped. I understand that. This sucks. I get it. You are in chip hell. I would not wish that on anyone. This thread is about chip holds. Here is the problem with being put on chip or parts hold. How many trucks does Ford build each day? My truck was built 3 months ago, but has not yet shipped. Three full months of daily production is a lot of trucks. Has Ford ran out of the parts needed for the trucks on hold? Clearly not. How many trucks has Ford shipped in the last 3 months? Clearly the large majority of production. Could they have found a shipper in the last 3 months for my truck. Obviously!Becauese some folks' expectations are ridiculous. You do not need to know where the train is every hour. You dont need to know what highway the truck is on. Just 1 example.

I do not think any auto manufacture sees revenue until contract signed, ie sold. They do not get to put in sold column until then. For customer orders anyways. Here is the problem with being put on chip or parts hold. How many trucks does Ford build each day? My truck was built 3 months ago, but has not yet shipped. How can Ford justify some folks on this forum waiting for 15 months for trucks, in some cases that have been built since this past January & still not shipped. You want to talk about wasted resources. PLEASE EXPLAIN & DEFEND how Ford can in any way justify this.
There is only 1 explanation that makes any rational sense. The simple fact is that Ford invoices dealers at, or about, blend date. That is when Ford "earns" their revenue. If a truck gets built with no hitches & gets shipped quickly, great for Ford. But, if a truck has any kind of issue, Ford pushes it figuratively to the far corner of the lot, & only comes back to it when it becomes convenient, or absolutely necessary. Nothing is allowed to slow down production & the associated revenue!
Meanwhile Ford enforces absolute silence about the delay. Some of these supposed Customers will likely have to wait all the way until the end of model year cleanup, before Ford decides they have to devote the necessary resources to finally move the delayed trucks. That is absolutely not how you treat any Customer that you hope to keep doing business with!!!
Do not take my word for this. Please look into it for yourself. I am not wrong. Ford invoices the dealer at, or about, blend date. As an example, Ford invoiced my dealer 2 days after my blend date.I do not think any auto manufacture sees revenue until contract signed, ie sold. They do not get to put in sold column until then. For customer orders anyways.
I have no clue why some trucks sit much longer than others.
I do know Ford wants to sell as many F-150's as possible. They are not looking to lose their "#1 vehicle sold" title anytime soon. Trucks on chip hold are not sold. This hurts Ford as well.
It doesn’t explain why a truck partially built in January still isn’t in the hands of the purchaser when others manufactured much later are.ETA....ESTIMATED. TIME.
Whats not to understand? Ford gets date from vendor, they use that in their planning.
Part doesnt show, or vendor updates their delivery. Ford reschedules.
Pretty black and white.
Please read my explanation above. It will make it clear why Ford does not prioritize long delayed trucks as they really should. It doesn’t explain why a truck partially built in January still isn’t in the hands of the purchaser when others manufactured much later are.
