Brand new to the group....Yesterday I had the (check engine light) come on and the truck started a pulsing type thing like i was quickly patting the accelerator pedal. I did a fordpass check and call the dealership. It was an exhaust recirculation sensor, whatever the hell that is, but it went off last night. I called the dealer and told him i would watch it and let him know if i had any more problems. He also told me the tech has had to replace several of these in the pass. anybody else experience this? Also what is the READY light in the bottom right of the gauge cluster......what ir ready?????

From my old high school auto-shop days (late 80's) - I think he might be referring to an EGR valve. A fairly simple fix, but it's role is more complex (long since forgotten). It does have to do with increased efficiency, by lowering the cylinder temperature. I'm sure it's a far more sophisticated system now, but I think the concept is the same. Hopefully it resolves itself, but if not I'm sure your dealer will get it corrected. Best of luck!

That little green ready light just means the truck is running. Press your stop/start button and it will go off when the truck is off.

The first TSB related to some P codes set on the Powerboost. Without the codes, I can't tell you if the TSB may be applicable. If you want to PM me your VIN and email address, I can try to pull your connected vehicle info including DTCs to let you know what they are. You would need to PM me the code contained within the email for me to get access to the connected vehicle info for your truck. Up to you if you want to do that or not since I've only pulled up my own truck in Ford OASIS thus far.

I have P2C23 CIL on my Powerboost.

I brought it to the dealer about 10,000 miles ago and they re-flashed the PCM per the TSB, but the light came back on within 30 miles of the dealership.

Does anyone know where this sensor is located? Or maybe just how to get Ford to change it without keeping my truck for 3 weeks?

Some of Service procedure for P2C23 - Exhaust Heat Exchanger Exhaust Bypass Valve “A” Position Sensor Performance: no sub type information - once re-flash doesn’t fix issue MIL.

So, I was able to get the oil / tire rotation expert to look the P2C23 code up on the Ford Repair Manual in their shop. According to this document, it looks like it has something to do with the exhaust heat exchanger exhaust bypass valve “A” position sensor not returning the proper value when the commanded and received position information do not match when everything else is normal.

Someone had a hybrid with a pinched wire I read about previously, and the wire cause a totally different issue in the truck.

This service procedure seems to take you down that route, as there may be a faulty harness allowing noise/resistance to cause interference with the signal.

Wish I could get ahold of this entire PDF. Anyone able to do that without getting fired?
