Which quickjack do you have? I have a 5000 tlx for my C8. Haven't had a need to use it on the truck yet.
I have the 6000TL

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
In theory the dealer is changing my transmission fluid. I have my fingers crossed.

It's a very good point.

I've ordered the Kevlar arm sleeves as per your suggestion and am going to check the level after this next cold front moves through.

I plan to do it per the manual.

Wow, that is cool. I need to get one of those. I hate using a regular car jack and stands plus its getting difficult for me to do it that way as I get older now.

I just watched on YouTube the ARod power stroke guy do a fluid and filter change on a 2023 10R140 transmission. Ford has made a change and added a standpipe to the plastic pan that completely eliminates having to f-around with a dipstick.

It would be nice if the aftermarket could implement the same for our trucks. Coupled with a drain plug you could do a drain and fill quickly, run the truck to warm the fluid and drain the excess using the standpipe. You could do the same with a side plug too.

Mosey, could you post that video please?

I have 7000TLX QuickJacks and glad I do. I’ve used them on several vehicles. That said, at nearly $2000 and 100lb each to lift off the wall and wheel (manhandle) into place then slide them under vehicle and lineup exactly in place then attach the hydraulic lines and lift it, I am not so sure it is any quicker than jackstands and a jack. Safer, yeah, I certainly think so. They also limit access from the sides so you have to crawl in from front or rear of vehicle to get underneath, With my truck I’d hit the open garage door overhead when lifting (garage not long enough to fit truck on these as they rotate up and back about a foot while lifting, so I have to use them outside in driveway with truck (cars are fine in my garage). So, again, I like them and glad I have them, but just be warned of the real issues before you drop the money on them.

There is this too but its almost the same price as a full size lift. My garage is tall enough for this. https://www.maxjax.com/

Bro... your adapted funnel idea is awesome! Straight up gravity-feed without messy transfer-pumping forever lying under the truck!

Go to Menard's and buy a pump sprayer. Melt the spray end of the hose into a hook. Pour your ATF in the bottle pump, and pull the lever. It doesn't take that long and goes well.

Buy a cheap pair of welding gloves from Harbor Freight if you really want to be safe.

I put two more quarts in than I got out.
Ditto... That's exactly what I did. I work on cars because I enjoy (that mess, as wife says), but Honestly, I work on my cars because it's a great hobby. I am a mechanical engineer (but had to spend my life working in financial services because it offered a bigger paycheck), but I know more than mechanics do, and so I do them better (maybe not always smarter).
