You just accidentally swerved into my point. "will earn you points outside the initial sum awarded at time of purchase". I never got any points, including for the purchase of the truck. Never. 0 points. Do I have to sign up/subscribe/activate (whatever) FordPass for the points to show up? I would have thought that if I had points, they would at least show up in the Ford account, but I got nothin.
If you bought it new, you should have gotten some. It took mine about 2 weeks to hit. They showed up at the same time as the notices for all of the subscription services.

To pile onto the benefits, I’ve used the map as a nanny mode a couple times. I dropped my truck off for the spray in bedliner and checked it a few times to see if and when it moved, so I can roughly tell when to pick it up.

Again, an interesting idea...

I think I need to get in touch with my salesman, and find out what happened to those points!

I did not see the value in the long distance remote start, but you provided a good example where it could be useful.
That's pretty much the only thing I use the app for. When I am home, I can use the key to remote start and pre-cool the cabin of my truck before I head out. However, at work, I work in one building and the parking garage is in a parking garage across the street. The days I come in to work at 11am, all the parking spots in the lower covered levels are taken, so I park on the roof level where my truck is getting beat up by 90 degrees heat and sun. Using the app to start my truck 5 minutes before getting into it is huge for me. I hate getting in my truck when it is over 100 degrees in there wearing a full suit.

Yeah, I hear ya! For some reason I had only valued the use of remote start in winter, but I am becoming enlightened!

You should have received a ton of points when taking possession of your vehicle. I believe I received ~42,000 points; however, I used them all on day one to help pay for my extended warranty purchase, so my balance showed zero. On your FordPass app, click on "Account" upper right hand corner, FordPass Rewards, View Activity, Missing Points, and follow the prompts. Ford has an actual department that handles points. I spoke to them once or twice and they were very helpful reminding me I used all my points on my warranty upgrade.

Thanks for your input. I don't have FordPass set up yet - still considering it, but moving closer to doing it. That not withstanding, I did contact my salesman, and documented my Ford account with 0 points. He was surprised to hear of the news, but he did acknowledge that it has happened once or twice before, but it is unusual. He pretty much confirmed what you said - that there is a whole separate Ford dept that monitors this stuff. He said he was going to address the issue and see about getting the points awarded. So, I've got him doing the legwork, not me. Throughout the whole purchase process, the salesman has struck me as being a pretty good guy (and a welcome change - I've had some bad ones!), so I think he will work the problem.

You can also get alerts like door opened, etc. That's been nice when the truck is valeted, it lets me know when it is on its way.

Finally, the long distance remote start is very nice in bitterly cold weather. When the temp is below 0ºF, it's nice to start the truck from within the office.

I find the trailer light check feature very helpful. Stand behind your trailer, and run the light check from your phone.

Also the tire pressure readings are almost always the same as the readout from my digital pressure gauge.

And the map is cool - has helped me find my truck in an airport parking lot at least twice ;-}
