Cash deposits/under contract

Wondering how many waiting on builds have put money down and/or signed a contract? I realize interest rates on deposits don't amount to more than a piss hole in the snow but are you getting any interest while waiting? Also, if you entered into a contract do you have an escape clause for when you say enough is enough I'm walking away? One of the main and most posted to order threads on this forum has me seeing some with the patience of a Saint, while others seem like they're ready to check in at the local Mental Health Clinic.

$1000 deposit, 247 days ago, no interest but fully refundable. I was kicked out of the mental health clinic last September

Granger order:
- $1k non refundable (I wonder if they make some money when people back out?)
- No interest
- When no heated steering wheel was announced, they did offer to cancel contract and refund $ (since build didn’t match what was in our contract)
- granger has a very formal (and well done) process with multiple documents that need to be signed.
