I didn't buy my Powerboost for the fuel economy, if anything, im a car dealerships favorite type of buyer, i did little research and I asked even less questions. I told them, I wanted a 4x4 and the Pro Power OnBoard 7kw, I didn't care about anything else. Gave them the most I would pay for said truck and they found one for me. Didn't even test drive it, had 5 miles on it and I drove off the lot. I was extremely surprised when I found out it was a hybrid....lol

AMEN !!!!!! on remove'n the stop/start on ICE but let me have the AUTO HOLD. That is such a convenient feature to have when drive'n in city traffic & deal'n with stop light after stop light.
The platinums have it, I use it all the time. It's smooth when used, too. Wife's BMW has it, it's pretty rough in comparison to my truck.

@turbopilot That bar chart you posted is reality. FL is not slowing down. People are flocking to FL and TX in hopes of finding common sense laws, lower power bills, two distinctly different bathrooms 🤦‍♂️, schools that don't indoctrinate your kids and so much more. The amount of new homes being built is insane. Texas building the most, FL is second place.

@tomcaudell I think you'll love the Sunshine State, but it's getting more and more expensive to live here. Property prices and taxes are taking a bigger bite than ever. At least by our standards. They'll progressively lower if not get rid of property taxes soon enough, but that's only going to make the houses more expensive and the sales tax higher.

Enjoy your retirement 🥂

When I turn 62 “next year” I’ll be in that exit number from Ca. Insurance rates and taxes on everything are not sustainable after you retire. Besides it would be nice to live somewhere where you don’t have to wait 6 months to see a specialist.
I can understand that. The tax on our home is a little over a thousand a year our electricity is 13 cents per kilowatt. I’m retired comfortably. If I lived in Ny Fl or Ca I would need a job or go bankrupt. If you leave look at western Va. I think you will like the slower pace and cost of living.

I'm leaving FL when I retire and it has nothing to do with politics. I hate the bugs and insane humidity. Being chased by mosquitos 12 months a year sucks. Miss hills, trees, and seasons. Either heading back to north GA or western VA.

I use both ACC and Lane Centering constantly. Here in Texas most of our roads are built to interstate standards and generally have consistent markings, so those features are quite reliable. I drive over 100miles a day for work and 99% of it with adaptive cruise enabled and my longest commute stretches are BlueCruise enabled. I’m 25 years old and my job requires a truck, so I’m pretty much the target demographic for those features from Ford. I always say the truck drives better than I do.

My girlfriend (younger than me) cannot fathom I spent this much on a truck to not actually “drive it” and I have several clients in the 50-60+ age range who are like “I turn all of that crap off” and so there’s certainly a very specific demographic that likes these features. My father is 57 and likes adaptive cruise, but doesn’t keep those other features on. My mom doesn’t like any of them. All very interesting.
I too live in Texas and use blue cruise a lot but I definitely have to keep an eye on things because it frequently tries to kill me.

I have a rule now that if I'm tired I drive so I don't fall asleep.

knowing about the 7.2 pro power onboard is a very specific feature. I know plenty of “Ford” guys that don’t even know that feature exists

little research? 🧐

we had a hurricane blow through Houston a year and half ago. Most of Houston was without power for a day or two. The news was talking about local ford dealerships loaning powerboost trucks out to help power peoples homes that electricity meant life or death.

Smart!!! I’ve been wanting to retrofit my 2.4Kw to the 7.2Kw just in case or an emergency

the times I’ve used the 2.4 have been handy but sometimes need a little more juice
