I've begun to notice a slight bump/knock in the transmission when I start to go up a hill, and it downshifts from 10th gear to 9th gear. Is this normal or something I should have the dealer service department look at?

Mine has done the same thing since day 1 and I have not been able to get a dealer appointment and service loaner to check it and several other problems.

No one else experienced this issue other than Paul and me?

Our local Ford dealer can't handle it... no transmission tech on staff, so they can't even look at it. I'll have to take it out of town to a larger dealer to get it checked out. I can tell this is already going to be aggravating, to say the least.

I ended up going back to the dealer I purchased it from, which is over an hour away, but it makes sense that they are who I need to deal with, being I just purchased the truck from them. They could not get me in for a service appointment until the middle of March, and they have no loaner vehicle either. I remembered getting a text from the dealer's operations manager a couple of days after purchasing, so I sent him a text letting him know what was happening. He called me. I am now test-driving another one to see if it does the same thing, and thus far, it does not. They will allow me to swap even if I decide that is what I want to do, or they will work out a loaner vehicle if I want to wait and get mine fixed. The only difference is this one is only a 4x4 and not an FX4. The sticker is $1000 less than the FX4. I don't think they are obligated to swap, and this is merely a courtesy, but I'm not sure I want to downgrade. They don't have the same one in FX4. I don't need the FX4 goodies, but I'm not sure the FX4 may ride a little smoother on the highway, or I could be imagining things. I think I will have to go back and compare the two on back-to-back test drives.

I know this is a super late reply, but in case others run across it. I did trade even with them, literally even. I was quite happy with the 4WD version... but after about 10k miles it started doing the same thing with the tranny. I ended up trading it in on a Ram Limited and took a bit of a hit. Now two year models later... looking at a 2025. Curious if there are still tranny issues with these, or did they finally get them worked out.
