I understand that BlueCruise does not currently work while towing. Although I have the hardware for BluieCruise, I’m currently in the update blackhole and cannot get it updated to turn on BlueCruise. The active (hands on) lane centering, which I currently have, does work while towing. Will I lose this ability if I (eventually) get BlueCruise turned on? In other words, is it only only hands free BlueCruise that doesn’t work while towing, or will “hands on” BlueCruise also not work, and will I also lose the current lane centering feature?

No you will not lose it. I find that I end up turning that off because it keeps trying to keep you centered in the lane and basically causes to trailer to swing right to the left, making it much more difficult to pull a trailer because it starts to swerve.

Thank you. Oddly, this post says otherwise, which I had in the back of my mind somewhere. You have Bluecruise activated and can do hands on lane centering while towing?

Well I'm not sure what he's talking about but when I took a trip to Jacksonvile FL from OH last May I was bringing back a car, six sets of wheels/tires stock exhaust and stock seats, so I was pulling 9000 lbs total and my truck has the trailer sway control and the lane centering kept working against the trailer sway control so I turned off the trailer sway control and then it pulled the trailer without incident.

I’ve had the same experience. I only tried the lane centering once just to see what it would do pulling the horse trailer. Granted, it was less then a minute, but I’ll pass on doing that again. Way too squirrelly.

To confirm though, you have BlueCruise, right? Not just Co-Pilot360 Assist? I just have the latter right now, and it does work while towing (and I have not had a sway problem yet). I'm trying to figure out whether to get BlueCruise activated. Thanks!

Yes I do, I use it all the time. I was hoping it wasn't disabled when towing but it is.

Thanks. Hopefully, they will update it to work while towing (I understand the Chevy version does and it is on the list of Ford improvements being worked on).
