Any dust issues coming in from the tailgate? i.e. any need for tailgate weather stripping along the sides?

I had the tailgate seals on my 2013 Limited and it never leaked water or dust. So tight that when I opened the bed it stank of my golf shoes...Haha. I put the Lomax bed cover from that truck on my 23 Platinum and did notice some water inside the tailgate. Not sure if it's from not having seals or the Lomax doesn't fit this gate as good.

nice. really nice job around the lights. I assume you left enough flaps of carpet to fit under the light... the light clips were able to still grab the bed even with the carpet?

Yes, The light I had to slowly trim the carpet at the top and bottom till it clipped in. The switch was harder since it's tighter to the bed. It clips on the sides and would not snap in untill I cut all the carpet away except at the top and bottom were it just barly covers.

Recently finished my bedrug install myself. I got the driver side cutouts perfect, but then screwed up the passenger light assuming the cutout aligned. Fortunately the mistake is hidden behind the new bed frame. Just spent a night camping and skiing.

I see you have tailgate weather stripping installed... did you have any dust intrusion issues without the weatherstripping?

that weather stripping was applied by the folks who installed the Bed Rug. I hadn't noticed any dust or anything else coming in before. But I'd only driven on hard surface roads, and I had the Bed Rug installed within a couple weeks after thr truck purchase.

So, I just completed my bed rug install... along with two swing boxes. Some helpful notes:

1. remove the tail-lights and set aside in a safe place. It really helps when removing and installing the bed lights and light switch, as you have access to both sides.

2. use a beard trimmer to trim the nap off the bed rug around the bed light and light switch cutouts. The plastic snap in tabs on the fixtures will then have less bed rug material in the way and will be able to snap in easier.

3. if installing swing boxes, the instructions say not to install on top of the bed rug as I did... but I think the install is much cleaner looking and definitely secures the bed rug better.

Good idea using the beard trimmer. I cut the backing off the bedrug with my utility knife. Luckily I didn't cut myself in the process and I don't advise it but it worked. The trimmer would be much safer and easier. (y)

I also installed mine on a 43 degree day in my driveway. I let it sit on my living room floor to uncurl from packaging, which helped, but not as much as the sun beating down on a summer day. It turned out well at any rate and it's my favorite mod to date.

I am getting ready to install my bedrug and like some of you guys tips, On the tailgate do you cover up the plate and cut out for the handle or cut out and place the hole piece over it?
