You can enable it. I figured it out after no one would help me. You need to update completely with FDRS and do changes in forscan. It actually wasn’t working until I got an over the air update even though I had all the options in the menus.
Lane change is slick and the lane bias is a nice feature.
As soon as you update in fdrs your BC is 1.4 just not fully featured. It’s now worth paying for. I usually put 1000’s of miles on BC a month and I’m very happy now.
Interested to hear more if you’re willing to share. What did you change in FORScan? Do you know what the OTA update was that enabled it?

The updates needed for this are only available with FDRS.

The dealer updated various modules a few weeks ago and I believe I have 1.4 loaded. You checked my vin at that time as well (https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/request-vin-lookup-thread.13393/post-451982). I’ve noticed improvements in lane centering as well as an active distance gauge to the car in front of me on the digital cluster that I don’t recall seeing before.

MichF150 indicated FORScan changes will enable the additional 1.4 functions. I’m curious what those changes are.

Thanks!

You would need the CMR, PSCM and IPMA updates done.

For the second time since 2021 I went through the full process to bring all my modules up to date (except BCM which now has a security log in). My goal was to get BlueCruise 1.4 functional in my 2023 PB. After spending most of the day in the garage everything is installed. Then I applied the super secret APIM and IPMA Forscan hack to wake up BC 1.4.

The problem is that I live 60 miles from the nearest interstate In rural Arizona. Is there anyway to tell if all this work really turned on BC 1.4 without driving an hour to find an interstate highway?

So I’m having a problem with how adaptive cruise works now compared to before these changes. Before I could turn off Speed Sign Recognition, it would still show on the dash, but it would not adjust speed based on the sign.

Now I don’t see an option to turn it off! And ford doesn’t know what the word “tolerance” means! If I set tolerance to 15mph, it should allow me to be at the posted speed limit or up to 15mph over without changing my set speed. But no, if I set tolerance to 15 and I’m in a 45, as soon as it sees a sign it bumps my speed up to 60. WTF.

Help plz!

With my '21 (updated all my modules with FDRS a few months back, then enabled BC 1.4), SSR doesn't change my speed, so something I have turned off controls that. I think the name changed or something.

Also, the tolerance has always been added to the speed limit sign to adjust my cruise speed (+5 tolerance, pass a 60 MPH sign, cruise is set to 65).

Thanks. I’ll have to keep digging. I have speed sign alert turned off already, so I’m not sure what else it would be. Does alert need to be turned on to force the speed adjustment to be off?

Would you mind posting screen shots of your setting? That would be awesome and much appreciated.

I know tolerance has always worked like that, more of a frustration with ford not using the term “tolerance” correctly. It’s more like speed sign intolerance.

The speed sign alert is a secondary system. There is a slider to set the alert thresh hold. Then if you are outside of that range the truck will make the speed limit sign on the IPC flash. So I have my Cruise tolerance set to +5MPH. and my alert set to 8mph. So If I drive past a 55 sign, truck automatically does 60. But If I go Over 63MPH, The 55 mph sign icon will flash.
