I've had on an off issues with the factory battery in my 23 Lariat, but nothing the occasional overnight tender session wouldn't resolve. Last night I got the "remote features disabled to save battery message." This AM, no proximity lights, but pushing the button and the dash light up like a Christmas tree with no crank, voltage at the battery read 11.2. Left it on the charger all day, and still no crank but voltage initially was up around 12.8 (and still charging). I noticed a bit of a high pitch whine near the front of the truck right above the fans, like something is not shutting off. I've disconnected the battery and am charging it separately. I do know there is a dealer added In Touch VP tracker on this, but that's the only electrical add-on. Anything else that would prevent the truck from cranking as long as the battery has enough juice? May try to go get a new battery tonight, but I'm bothered by the high pitch noise and the truck not wanting to crank.

Bite the bullet and put in a new battery or keep the truck on a charger every night.

Ford had a batch of bad OEM batteries. One of the best things you can do is just replace it with a quality aftermarket battery. I have Duralast Platinum H7 from Autozone. At this point your factory battery is getting long in the tooth.

Grab some peace of mind and swap them out. Remember to do a BMS reset after. If you only do a lot of short haul trips, keep it on a battery tender to protect the investment. I've had good luck with the NOCO Genius 10 that has a setting to charge AGM, std. 12V or Li.

Best of luck!

Concur. Sounds like bad battery symptoms. Don’t get a Motorcraft replacement.

When you charge a battery the so-called surface charge can indicate a higher, good voltage which is why a simple voltmeter test isn’t very accurate. That surface charge rapidly drops with a load on the bad battery. For example, turn key to on position (or press start button with no foot on brake) to put a draw on system for 15 secs or so. Turn off and re-measure the voltage and it has likely dropped significantly on bad battery.

Had same type issues with my 2022 3.5 ecoboost Tremor. Installed a H8 size battery from Costco, did BMS reset routine and no battery problems since. Recommend.

Thanks. Yep, new battery installed and working ok so far today. Old battery even by itself won't charge properly anymore. I'll echo the sentiment that the factory batteries are undersized junk.
