I got a new to me 21 f150 king ranch with the 3.5 eb. I guess I need to charge the battery but my old charger isn’t compatible with the AGM batteries. Any recommendations on which charger to purchase or ones to stay away from?
Thanks

I've only used relatively low amperage (less than 5 amps) "maintainers" that say they're OK for AGM batteries.

Victron's get high marks from users, don't know how good the Bluetooth function is. For AGM's, recommended normal mode (14.7V) for charging.

Lots of folks use NOCO, a variety of models out there.

I currently use a fairly cheap Battery Tender Plus 1.25 amp maintainer, no issues yet in last year or so.

I bought this one based on everything ive seen in these and other F150 forums. Its been great. I believe its helped with my OTAs, by raising the SOC...

Im hoping for the same results! I’ll probably be replacing the battery very soon, but want to make sure the new battery is fully charged before I reset the BSM. I’ve read on here that’s the way to do it.

I use a Noco Genius 5. No matter what one you get, Do not connect it to the negative battery post. It gets connected in such away that the little black sensor is between the connection point and the negative battery post. This is so the truck knows what is happening to the battery. It's all part of Ford's charging logic.

Key on engine off
Wait till battery light stops flashing
Flash brights 5 times
Hit brake pedal 3 times
Battery light should flash 3 times
Done.

Should only do this when installing a new battery. Reason is, this also resets the in service clock which changes the charging strategies.

I recommend the NOCO Genius 10. Works great as a charger, tender, and recovery/repair unit. Generally it’s just used for maintaining the truck but when my snow blower battery died the repair mode brought it right back. Also charges our camper battery quickly if it gets down.

Agreed. Noco genius 10 is great. I was concerned that the supply mode would not be enough for FDRS programming because its only 10amps, but it worked like a champ even through a marathon 6+ hour update for the IPC.

I'll echo the recommendation for the NOCO Genius5. Although it appears the NOCO Genius line in general is very good.
