I noticed recently that the top layer of my bed cover was starting to delaminate..

I filled out the warranty claim, so we'll see what happens there.

Anyone else had similar issues or experience with a claim?

One end did break. I contacted them and they sent out replacements no questions asked.

Otherwise, I've been happy. FL sun is harsh, but I've kept up with 303 Protectant on the cover.

Edit: This one is about 1.5 years old.

I had a warranty claim the day I installed it. They sent me a new one after a couple pictures. Easy peasy

Bak has always been amazing with warranty issues for me. They’ll send you a whole new cover and instruct you to drill holes in the old and send them pictures.

So as expected, they’re shipping a new cover. I should have just called instead of using the support form, as it probably would have been resolved with a bit less back and forth.

Hopefully this one lasts a bit longer, but at the very least, it’s a guaranteed pos. ?

Just a quick follow-up, I sent mine back and they are in the process of issuing a full refund. I have a feeling that rolling up the cover during packaging while covered in aluminum shavings might be exacerbating (or even causing) the delaminating issues.

Surely the aluminum slivers are chewing into the surface during shipping but it’s likely near invisible during install other than blowing off all the particles, fast-forward and all those compromised areas begin to lift.

I’ve already ordered a different cover entirely but I’ve been mulling over the delamination given it seems inconsistent. Some folk's covers look near new after a few years while others look entirely shot after 1 year.

Thanks for the follow up, and your latest thoughts!

What is the different cover you've ordered?

I was set on a Peragon but then learned about the agri-cover lomax. It doesn’t have many bells and whistles, in fact It’s pretty basic but built very well and is sensibly priced. It looks really sharp too, I opted for the matte finish. I’ll post pics and such when it comes in, it should ship this week.

I did a lot of looking at other covers, mainly looking at the reviews. I've had a Bak G2 on my 2 previous trucks (same cover transferred over) and have the G2 on my current 2019 Ranger Lariat. The first one was 9 yrs old when I traded the truck in and only had one issue with it, but Bak sent me a repair kit (tape and adhesion promoter) and it was back to new in 15 minutes. No issues with the one on my Ranger for the past 5 yrs.

The AgriCover reviews mentioned a few times about the powdercoat/coating chipping around the edges, but fine other than that. One reviewer of the Bak MX4, the cover was a year or so old, sat outside, and the owner said he felt as if the cover wasn't as light as it was when new. He discovered the outer coating was wearing through and allowing water to soak into it. I was going to get the MX4, but that review really turned me off.

So, I have another Bak G2 sitting in my living room (ah, the bachelor life  ) that is waiting for it's truck to be delivered, along with another $1000+ of accessories.
