Automatic Parking Brake

I have a ‘23 PB Latiat. I know I can turn the auto parking brake on the backup screen but it doesn’t stick. Is there a way to set it to come on every time you go into park?

On another note, sometimes when Auto Hold is on and I’m at a light, all of a sudden I get a slight surge. This happens in electric mode.

There's no way to make the emergency brake come on automatically every time you shift into park that I know of. I had a loaner 2024 Explorer that had that feature and it was great.

Revisiting this. Just picked up my truck yesterday and would really like to make that a permanent thing. Anyone have a way??

I swear there is a setting in Sync or you hold the brake lever for 10 seconds or something.

Unless I’m thinking of Lexus / Toyota

The little lurch at a light I have had that a few times over the year of ownership. It’s gotten less frequent so I wonder if a software update did something. Been a long while since it has happened.

I don’t use auto hold though.

The parking break turns on automatically if the vehicle detects is parked on a steep enough angle.
