I hear you although I have 360 on my current truck and find I still use my mirrors more often than the camera. Old habits die hard I guess. ;)
Yeah it took me a few months to get used to it but now that I've sort of got the hang of it it's awesome. Way better than just using mirrors.

I'm trying to learn how to do that better, but after years with never having had a backup camera I haven't quite gotten the knack of it yet, so I usually fall back on the tow mirrors.
What? No way

I'll be a bit of a contrarian here ... I swapped from standard mirrors to tow mirrors. I have a love hate relationship with my tow mirrors. When I'm towing my travel trailer they're great. The rest of the time I find them kinda annoying. They are taller, so if you're like me and want to sit with the seat as low as possible they do create some forward blindspots. The 14th gen standard mirrors have much better coverage than 13th gen mirrors, along with having BSM I really didn't mind them, and as mentioned they offer much better forward visibility.

Have you noticed any mpg difference between the two?
This is another thing, I used to be able to see 25 MPG on highway runs around 60-65 now it's more like 23 maybe 24.

Overall of you're not towing something 8ft wide somewhat regularly I'd stay with standard mirrors. That being said if you're ordering and think you might want them build with them on and then pick up a used set of standard mirrors. It's a far cheaper and easier path.

My 2¢ on tow mirrors. I don't have them. I don't tow anything so I don't need them for that reason. A buddy has them so I can compare with and without.

From the outside of the truck they look dumb as hell. Really Dumbo. You've got to be really hard core to believe they look better than the standard mirrors.

From the driver's seat they are pretty sweet though. They provide really good rearward vision whether you tow or not. Tons better than the standard mirrors. As mentioned in previous posts, they can block some of your peripheral forward vision.

If you tow you should definitely have them. Well, if your trailer is wide. Basically anything other than a Harbor Freight trailer. If you don't tow, I wouldn't consider them unless they are power folding/extending.

I replaced the stock mirrors with tow mirrors and I have not noticed any difference in gas mileage. Lot better visibility while towing my boat. Makes backing a lot easier.

Ultimately this is the approach I took. Placed the order on Friday with Tow mirrors but more than likely I’ll end up switching to the standard mirrors.

I only tow during the summer months so I have both tow mirrors and stock mirrors that I swap out.
Assuming that both models have the same features is it just a plug and play swap?

Yes both mirrors have the same features. And it is a simple swap. Not sure how the truck would act if you took telescoping tow mirrors off and put stock mirrors on.

I am sure it could be turn on and off with forscan :)
