I am sorry if this has already been covered here but I was curious about the conditions that would cause the auto start stop to not work.
Last month I took my truck in to have the underbody recall performed and since then I have noticed that my auto start stop is not kicking on

HOWEVER

in the past month the weather in southeast Michigan hasn’t been above 45 degrees since then.

do any of you who live in the great white north experience this?

It doesn't work "all the time" so I assume it deactivates itself under certain conditions.

But… if you want the ability to shut off and leave it off until you want it on again, get this device. They have an installation video on their web site and it looks pretty easy…

Yes I have noticed my auto stop start isn't working as well. I live in southeastern NY. Heading south in a while, will see if it works in the warmer weather.

Thank you both.
I am sure it’s just the weather, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing it too.

that little dingus thing is cool to control the start/stop

Mine will work until it gets below 20 degrees, give or take.
I can’t remember the exact steps, but you can go into the menus on the gauge cluster and if you find the “auto start/stop” menu, it will tell you (when you’re stopped at a light for instance) why it is or isn’t working.

Here are a few reasons it wouldn’t stop the engine.

Mine still works, even when it’s been really cold.
Thanks for letting me know. send me some 1664 Blanc, I haven't been able to visit the Manchester in Windsor since covid hit, its on my list.

I wonder if the vehicle was built for the Canadian market so the settings are tweaked, sort of like how you guys had day time running lights before us.

Mine stopped working and I was ok with it but then my battery failed several months later. Turned out it was my battery failing the whole time. The truck was trying to charge the battery that's why it wouldn't work. Ford replaced my battery and now it works again... for how long.. who knows...

Yeah mine doesn’t turn off most of the year. Winter it’s too cold and the engine is still warming up or heat is on and summer it’s too hot and AC is on. I know a lot of luddites hate it but I actually wish it was more aggressive about shutting off the engine.

Have you checked the start/stop menu in the cluster yet? If it says “engine on due to: battery charging” then you might be onto something. But that could also just be normal if you don’t drive it very often
