Absolutely not. Can't justify paying $15k more for a similarly equipped truck that actually has less features than my 21. Not to mention the interest rates right now. Up my monthly payment by $300-$400 for a lesser truck? I don't think so.

Until Ford offers an F-200 with an Ecoboost engine, I won't consider trading my '21 XLT HDPP. Even then it probably would be an unwise financial decision.

I have a feeling that the 2023 5.0's will be that next rendition of what the 15-17 5.0s were. There are some electrical demons but the power train is very strong with the transmission bugs being worked out. I feel that 2024 is the first gen of ford's plan to charge the most money while cutting as many corners as possible.

'24 is that thing automakers do when they want to freshen things up to keep people interested but aren't quite ready to go ground up yet. I would not jump into this from a 21-23 over a couple new features. I'd wait a few yrs and see if I want a Gen15 or a leftover.

Current trade in value on my 2023 STX is $21,000 and it stickered a year ago at $50,490, so I’d say they are spot on for your Lariat. These drop to the floor then kind of sit there. Next year mine will
Be worth about $18,000 but it will probably sit there many years. They just drop like a rock and bottom out fast.

I wouldn't imagine anyone is doing this. Bad financial sense, bad facelift, bad financing now...

Haha. I almost chuckled reading this. There are always a handful of posts about upgrading tires, wheels, suspensions, ceramic coatings and then a short time getting a new truck because I wanted a red one or I like the displacement better on the 5.0 vs the 3.5. Sometimes I think the ceramic coating wasn't even dry yet.

Well if this is the case a guy should opt for the bare minimum truck price wise he/she can handle , 30k loss in 2 years kinda hard to stomach lol .

I had to decide on finding a 2023 or ordering a 2024.. I wanted a Regular Cab short bed and as we all know this year you are limited to XL only with virtually no other options. The 5.0 and Sync 4 and NOT white was absolutely the priority and in early January few were available. I could accept 4×4 XLT trim and other options I really didn't need or want if I could get a good out the door price but that turned out to be impossible here in Florida. No dealer would even talk about less than MSRP on the 2 or 3 trucks that might work for me. I kept going back to the quote Granger gave me ($36,005.00 plus TTT) for the EXACT truck I could live with. I would have liked to order it with a power drivers seat and carpet maybe all terrain tires and especially LED fog lights but Ford won't let me do that. I can live with that.. The biggest plus to me getting a 2024 over a 2023 was the 12" center screen and dash! I can fix/mod most of the rest probably cheeper than Ford would have charged me. In my particular case Granger's price made a huge difference plus I get almost exactly what I wanted. And saved a lot of regrets down the road..

I have a part of me that wants to put in an order for something new ONLY because I didnt order what I wanted in 22...the deletions scared me off. i tried to find dealer ordered trucks but they were either marked wayyyy up or wouldnt honor the X plan. so theres part of me that wants to "upgrade" and order what i want but at this point i dont think it'll make sense.
Also, I have been thinking about an expedition haha
What are you missing?
MCS?
Dude let's get the parts and put em in!

I’m curious how many guys are getting the refresh and what your reasoning is. Obviously for most financially it wouldn’t make sense but just overall if your getting a 24?
Nope, what for? There's isn't any new technology. I'm waiting for the all new 2027.?

I lease and work at a dealer. Picked up my '24 Lariat a month ago. 559 miles on it and CEL came on. First time fueling up. I had a '21 5.0 and always used E85. Ordered a '24 5.0 because the added cost of regular fuel made the "cheaper" power boost more expensive to operate........

Well guess what? Ford engineers are geniuses and decided '24 5.0s are no longer flex fuel. So I just pumped 33 gallons of true E85 in to my tank. I'll live with the CEL until it starts limping.

But on a positive note, I have fewer cab noises compared to my '21

I would not do that. You are probably running way too lean, and it won’t have the right energy content. If you want to run e85 you’ll need to get a tune to activate the fueling strategy. The last gas station by me just stopped selling E-85. I can’t get E-85 within a 200 mile radius, I’d imagine it’s the same for much of the country. It’s been becoming less and less available.

Was fun the 2 times I ran it though, decent boost in power.
