OP, you can't post a big bitch fest on a topic covered very well in other threads and expect any useful responses. Be glad you got anything IMO.
Please take this in the spirit of keeping this board friendly...

Is this a library where you have to consult the card catalogue before you're allowed to ask a question? FWIW, sometimes the stuff in old threads is OLD. If you want new info, necro-threading gets you beat up too. I dunno sometimes...

I had a Aukey in a previous vehicle and a Viofo A119 mini in another and they’re pretty much only good for insurance fault purposes. Couldn’t get good license plates on the Aukey and haven’t tried yet with the Viofo.

I have Vantrue N2S cams in all of our vehicles, including my F150. They work well - I really haven’t had any issues with them. I run them in 1440 dual camera mode (they have a front facing camera and an interior cabin facing camera). They are easy to use and they function like a formatted USB device. Easy to get clips off of the camera to save to your computer. Nice features overall and they have good overall compatibility with micro SD cards.

They (Vantrue’s direct store) sell a rear view mirror mount (China sourced, because of course) but they work well.

I used this rear view mount for my truck:

But it seems like that mount has been discontinued. Unfortunate because it works well.

To power the camera I got one of the Ford powered mirror adapters. Pretty sure you can still find those. Link here:

I already pre-ordered the Ring, which should be sent around 2-14. If it's horrible, I'll just send it back to amazon. lol

My wife has an Aukey DR02 that works pretty well. I attached a screenshot from hers where you can actually read a plate from someone who drove her on to the shoulder. I also have a Rexxing V1 in my truck that has a rear camera (that is only like a 480p camera)with pretty equal quality. Both are over 3 years old and have bounced from vehicle to vehicle and been of more than enough quality for anything we’ve run across.

EDIT: On my phone the license plate is more clear than it looks on this attached photo. Don’t l ow if that has to do with image hosting quality or what.

I unfortunately didn't not have the same experience with Blackvue that everyone else seems to have. I had two that both pooped the bed and the customer support I got was less any acceptable in my opinion. My final straw was when I got in an accident that was not my fault and the the camera rebooted when i was hit and corrupted the file that actually showed the crash, but the file before and after were fine. It was enough of a gap in footage that the other insurance company is trying to fight it, but google mapped some landmarks from the video and cross referencing that against the location of the car in the video I think shows he ran the red light...but anyway...what good is a dashcam if it can't record during an accident. I would say this was just my experience, but I has similar issues with my wife's Blackvue as well.

I am now using Nextbase 622GW dashcams and have not seem to have any issues as of yet.

I own a Viofo A119S V2 from 2018 and a Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4K Dual from 2020 and they both still work great. Definitely use a name brand high endurance card and format it every month or two. Have had the footage come in handy four or five times, only once in a collision and it saved my wife's butt, proving she wasn't at fault.

i have think ware u1000
its pretty dammm good
its 4k and uses a ton of space on the memory card, it connects easy enough to the truck wifi
and is at times quirky to connect to the phone if you desire, but there is really no reason to connect to the phone, as you can do all the settings on the usb card and then load it in the camera
but if you want to connect via the phone, the trucks wifi has to be OFF or it will interfere with the connection as the dash cam becomes its own wifi source for the phone of sorts
i have been impressed, but license plates are hit or miss imo with sun and angles but so far when i need a plate number i could get it

here you can see a DEER hauling tail, this was at 60 mph

I have been using harming dash cams for years now and they work just fine in my opinion. I have 2 in the truck. One in the front and they have a small non screen version that I have in the back window. Both connect to the WiFi in the truck and auto upload any incident. The app that connects to them works fairly well. Thank god I’ve not had to use them yet but glad it’s there. Both are hard wired to the fuse box so they shut off when truck is turned off.

Viofo in 4 different family vehicles, including my truck, would buy another one if I needed to.
