Never had the earlier gen F150s but I did read up on all the issues with the 3.5L cam phasers. I think several iterations of them trying to fix the issue.

My feeling being on these forums is that cam phasers seem to be mentioned very very rarely.

Is my interpretation correct that it seems the cam phasers problem has finally been solved on the Gen 14? Or stlil just don't have enough trucks with enough miles to know for sure?

New phasers implemented on 2021 MY 3.5
Very few issues reported since the change. Many reporting over 100k miles without issues. Time will tell on larger cross section but so far so good.

The instances of failures have dropped significantly since the the redesigned phasers came out. There is still the occasional post from people with issues. It's rare but it still happens. So mostly, yes the issues do seem to be resolved. Just be sure to change your oil regularly and use the correct type/weight and you should be fine.

I just got done replacing all 4 phasers, 3 timing chains, many tensioners and guides etc on my 2013 F150 ecoboost because it was making the infamous rattling on startup. It was a pain in the ass job, but it runs great now.
