Well I guess I fell victim to the infamous cam phasers rattle.
I thought this issue was resolved and that ford learned from the 3.5
after watching many videos on preventative maintenance and doing everything I could to take care of my truck it still happened!

Changed the oil every 5k with full synthetic, never dogged the truck, well it don't matter what you do or don't, if its meant to fail it will fail.

My question for the gurus, will the cam phasers be replaced with the same ones (part #)? or has a new part been issued? the truck build date was 04/2023
I am thinking I don't want the cam phasers to fail again once I am out of warranty, If the same phasers (part numbers) are installed I am going to get them fixed and sell this truck. I love the engine but don't want to risk a $$$ repair bill in the future, knowing that these same parts were going to fail.

Any constructive input is appreciated, also might just jump to a 3.5 if the phaser issue is even resolved?

The 2.7 hasn’t had an enormous number of cam phaser issues. Some scattered ones, but not like the 3.5. As far as I’m aware, Ford doesn’t even offer a kit like they do with the 3.5, you’ve got to order the parts piecemeal, as it’s just nowhere near as common. Jumping to a 3.5 wouldn’t be any more effective than a different 2.7, and we haven’t really heard of recurrent 2.7 phaser failures like some older 3.5 owners had. Personally, I’d just get it replaced and not worry about it again on the 2.7 unless I had a recurrent failure, you’ve got a while left on your powertrain warranty. Unfortunately, I can’t answer your question about the part number, but hopefully somebody else knows the original part used in your engine.
