Does anyone have video of the differences turning the Unreal Engine update on for the APIM? I see the ForScan changes in the main spreadsheet, but would like to see what impact it has on the screen performance.

From what I have read, you can't tell from videos or pics. You gotta see it for yourself.

Doesn't it just render the buttons to look more smart phone-ish instead of flat? I'd like to do it to mine but I have no idea what version I'm on, ideally the newest but I only changed the stuff I knew would work so far. From what I have seen it looks really nice.

A tiny sample.
It's subjective, of course, and some don't see the big deal while others are stunned at the increase in:

Depth
Color density
Blacks are black
Text rendering is very crisp
3D and shadowing are much higher definition

Thanks @Snakebitten! That's what I was looking for. Does it improve responsiveness of the screen at all?

Hmmm
Honestly I didn't notice. But that's because I don't think I've ever experienced lag that was noticeable.

When enabling the Unreal at first you may experience some lag. It goes away. Its jsut as responsive as it would be normally

I thought this UI was coming out via OTA slowly for all trucks instead of a background change in FDRS?

It's necessary to make a forscan change to get the unreal engine interface.

That may be the case, but what your seeing here is simply the dynamic of the packages being in FDRS first allowing the FDRS crowd to always be the early adopters.
It’s a great arrangement, others can see how it functions as they sort thru any bleeding edge stuff.

FWIW, Jesse had a report of the last ‘22 job 2 3.5.2 version having it available (no fdrs, previous OTA). The others with older trucks with 3.5.2 variants in that threads seem to have varying results when they tried it.

They do like to stir things up, don't they?
