Unreal & Carplay Oddity #2

I’ve now had the same occurrence two days in a row. When approaching my local airport (coincidental maybe), at the exact spot on the road, my CarPlay disconnected and then my infotainment rebooted.

When leaving, in a different place than when going to the airport, it does it again. Two days in a row.

One spot is a few hundred meters from the airport when driving towards the airport.

The other spot is a couple KM away from the airport when leaving the vicinity.

I’ve driven about 500km issue free with Unreal without any other issues.

I have one spot on the hwy that when i pass it my wireless android auto disconnects and reconnects after 10 seconds or so. Possible its just interference? I do not use unreal like the forscan mod, just giving a data point

If you're using wireless Carplay, it's certainly possible that it is wireless signal interference. Did you recently switch from wired to wireless Carplay?

I’ve always used wireless CarPlay without issue until I changed to Unreal.

It could very well be using DFS 5GHz channels, but I doubt it. DFS 5GHz channels are channels that share the same freq as wind shear radars (as well as other weather radars). If something using a DFS channel gets a 'hit', it's immediately to vacate the band.

there is a place in I 10 heading east in MIssissippi about 5 miles from a big prison that GPS< nav and cell go blank and reboot. Its done this here for last 6 years every-time we are in that area heading to florida . no trees or overpasses...just straight hwy
maybe lots of confusing signals trick truck

I’m thinking it’s something like signal interference or a cutoff signal and the apim just looses its mind a shuts down.

Same, but I'm up to about 10 locations in SW Idaho where this happens every single time. One of the locations is the farther of the two driveways into my work. Every time, same exact place. I'm totally convinced my Android Auto disconnects are location-based. I've submitted multiple reviews and feedbacks to Google and no change. Fortunately, my APIM doesn't freakout and reboot. Hope you get that figured, OP...

Yeah this spot for me every time. My APIM does not flip and restart, but sometimes Android auto does get stuck and wont reconnect until the truck is shut off and then turned back on lol.

Negative, just the standard Sync 4. I Plan to turn it on.

There's a parking lot between a washateria and a locksmith shop that rendered my 2018 FOB inoperable.
I thought my Fob battery had mysteriously died and thought how fortunate to be next to a locksmith.

After hearing what I said at the front counter, the owners wife perked up and said that they had a customer or two that described the same scenario and that they had to be towed.

Literally from the same parking spot!

You won't believe how I got out of the jamb. Based on the theory of some kind of wave-frequency, I walked around the truck with a folded out windshield sun cover that had the metallic foil layer. I held it out spread wide and at one spot the locksmith started my truck. We both looked at each other with dismay, but grinning.

I folded the screen up and got in the truck, but it wouldn't come out of Park!

So this time HE held the screen in the same spot I had and the truck let me shift in reverse.

I moved the truck about 10 yards over to in front of his shop. Tested, and everything was back to normal.

He said that if anyone ever comes into his shop again with a similar complaint, he'll be a hero!

No sir.
But I'm now old enough to admit that I unwittingly parked in the same spot, 1 spot over exactly, and realized the error the moment I got out of the truck. (it's where I habitually get my laundry done)

The issue still existed!
