I noticed the new f150 has covered stake pockets in its bed. Does anyone use those stake pockets?

I have Bull Ring Retractable Tie-Downs in all my stake pockets. They come in handy when you need high attachment points.

Are these for the punchout holes on the top of the plastic bed rail or for the 4 plates inside the bed?

The four plates inside the box are used for the box link system, while the top covered holes are for the stake pockets.
Depending on your box, 5.5 or 6.5 , the short box has the stake pockets covered in the front under the plastic rail, while the 6 foot box has removable stake hole covers at the four corners. It would be necessary to drill out the front ones to use all 4 pockets on the short box.

First thing I did was pop out the stake pocket covers. I likely won’t be adding anchors since I plan on installing a rack and the empty pockets are good enough for now to use with bungees and rope.

I really wish there were more tie down points, especially since it’s an alloy bed and it’s more of a challenge to properly add them.

Someone needs to sell affordable Box-Link plates with fixed D-rings, I hear that E-track accessories fit but have play in them.

In my opinion, the Boxlink is simply a way to scam more money from customers for unnecessary accessories. It might have started out with good intentions but I feel that the execution is poor. About the only thing that most people do is install the keyed pot metal tie-downs that I have little faith or enthusiasm for.

This is the first truck that I have owned where I need to add a tie down near the wheel well. I need to see what others have done on the previous generation.
