I had electric folding tow mirrors on my '16 Lariat and liked them but they do create blind spots at 10 and 2I currently have a 2023 lariat and we use it to tow our boat to the lake. I do not have tow mirrors, just regular and like the look. They work, but it would be nice to have the tow mirrors on occasion. I have a 25 KR on order and choose to go with the tow mirrors this time. Has anyone regretted getting the larger tow mirrors? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something.
I traded that Lariat for a '21 XLT w/ the Heavy Duty Payload Package, to be used as a tow vehicle. It doesn't have tow mirrors and I thought I would miss them. I confirmed before buying it that I could retrofit electric folding tow mirrors if I wanted to, but at a cost of ~$1,500.
I don't miss them. I added large stick-on convex blind spot mirrors in the lower inside corners of the regular mirrors. That satisfied my preference for the convex mirrors on the tow mirrors. BLIS and 360 cameras help a lot.
When towing my trailer I use K-Source snap-on tow mirrors. They fit well, don't rattle or vibrate, and provide the view I need around the sides of the trailer. They're compact enough that I don't need to remove them when not towing. I'm happy with the setup and didn't have to spend $1,500 to see around my trailer.
If Ford still offered the HDPP option and it was available as a Lariat trim package I would consider tow mirrors as an option if ordering a new truck. As Ford no longer sells the HDPP, I don't need a truck nor do I have the money, that's a moot point.
The bottom line is I'm not dissatisfied without tow mirrors, as I thought I would be.
