Can you please be more specific? Ford what? Ford.com? Fordparts.com?

I read all the posts but all I see are ones referencing LED tail lights. I don't have those..
Fordparts.com and you can type in RL3z13a409 and go through the final letters until you find a match to your tailight type, inverter type and onboard scales or not, bed lighting package will obviously be added.

I finished the OEM install today on my 24 xlt. Pretty simple. Hardest part was getting that h00ge connector to disconnect.

I appreciate the ones that went first and figured out all the ins and outs.

Has anyone tried this with an STX? They have halogen tail lights so not sure what harness I would need.

You’ll have to look up your current harness on ford.com and see what you have for inverter type and taillight type then you can search all the harnesses by the last letter that adds the lighting package.

Mine is the XLT and I picked up the OEM LED taillights. I was going to spent money on the halogen to LED adapter until I saw this. Thank you so much guys!

Priced out for the OEM harness with LED and both jumper harnesses, found to be cheaper than adapter. Installed them and did the programming. It went through and I got working bed lights!

Old harness was RL3Z-13A409-B and new harness is RL3Z-13A4090-J since I got LED taillights.

I also picked up those bed lights from Morimoto and they said it only fits on 2015-2020 but.........it fit very well on newer F150s.

Just wanted to post my update as well. After a few of you guys mentioned the "P" harness having the grey connectors, I took the plunge and purchased it (on that note, if anyone is interested in a RL3Z-13A409-K harness that has the black connectors let me know). I received it last week and over the weekend got it all connected. I think the hardest part was unplugging the big connector. And like others suggested, removing the spare tire is helpful as you have a lot more room under there.

I made the following forscan changes that @GR8BBQ posted. Though I already had 726-79-02 set appropriately.

726-79-02 xxx1-xxxx-xxxx
726-71-01 x1xx-xxxx-xxxx
726-79-01 x2xx-xxxx-xxxx
726-79-01 xxx1-xxxx-xxxx
Here's the list of parts I used:
ItemPart #QuantityTotal Price
Switch AssemblySW77331$28.95
Wire Assembly Jumper RightML3Z14A411D1$23.21
Wire Assembly Jumper LeftML3Z14A411F1$24.90
Cargo LampJL3Z13A756A2$66.00
Wire AssemblyRL3Z-13A409-P1$161.59

Anyway just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for the help and I'm glad it's finally working.

Hey Guys, new 2024 F150 Lariat Powerboost owner here and trying to do this exact mod. Bought the two harnesses (ML3Z-14A411-D and ML3Z-14A411-F) from amazon, however under the truck it did NOT have the dummy plug harnesses. It appears all the plugs are actively being used. I'm assuming I need to buy one of the RL3Z.... harnesses mentioned above, correct? I went on Ford Parts website and upon typing in my VIN, nothing appears to show for my vehicle ("these parts don't fit your vehicle") I have typed in multiple variations of the RL3Z without any luck. Thoughts/ideas? I appreciate your guys help on this. Let me know if photos will help and I'll grab a bunch

You have to first find out what harness is in your vehicle. That will tell you tail lamp type, inverter type and then look through the RL3Z harness and find what matches your taillight type and inverter type that has the bed lighting package.

Would I do this by crawling under the truck and locating the harnesses that a few others have posted on this thread? Assuming VIN look up wouldn't pull this information. Is there an identifiable feature on the harness to look for to know exactly which one to type in? From the inverter and taillight perspective I know I have the 7.2kw with LED/BLIS taillights (no scales)

Yep. The tag in the harness is up by the rear of the spare tire. A lot easier to see everything with it removed.

OK I think I have the same exact set up as SquigglyBrace above... Went under the truck and saw the harness tag saying "RL3T-13A409-EBD". Which means I have the EBD harness, therefore I need to buy the RL3Z13A409P (i.e. "P" harness). Then using the two harnesses (ML3Z-14A411-D and ML3Z-14A411-F) to connect lights to "P" Harness.

Last question, am I replacing the entire "EBD" harness with the new "P" harness?

OEM RL3T-13A409-EBD equates to the following parts:
  • RL3Z13A409P (main harness)
  • ML3Z-14A411-D (Jumper right)
  • ML3Z-14A411-F (jumper left)
  • Cargo Switch
  • Cargo Lamp

Yes, entire harness replaces your current harness. Just has an extra plug on each end for the bed lights.

Long time listener, first time caller... I have a 2025 Lariat PowerBoost. Checked the taillight and have the black connector. Based on what I've read here and Ford Parts, it looks like the K harness will work for my truck. It's on order and will update once I get it installed. Thanks for all the awesome info!

Installed new K harness today. Worked perfectly. Fairly easy to install. I just pulled old one out a little at a time and put new one in its place. Did the quick Forscan changes and boom, everything working as intended.

Hi all, following up on this thread. I needed the "P" harness (I thought it was RL3Z13A409P) but the new harness came in saying "RL3T-13A409-EDE" .... is this still the "P" harness?
