Anyone added back the removed CHMSL camera - AKA bed camera?

Looking for the FORScan changes to enable the "removed" CHMSL camera.

I have the 360 camera package and have verified the wiring for the camera is in the roof harness 12-pin gray plug @ the CHMSL. location. I am assuming my truck's IPMA is capable since I have the 360 camera package.

I have modified the APIM settings to enable the CHMSL camera and now have the soft buttons on the screen and half screen card. The buttons don't do anything yet.

The APIM settings changed to enable the soft buttons were on lines:
7D0-01-01 xxxx xxxx xD--
7D0-01-03 xxxx xxxx xF--
7D0-01-04 xxxx Fxxx xx--

The only IPMA change I found so far was line
706-02-02 xxxF xxxx xx--

In addition to having the 360 camera option , as far as I know you only need the CHMSL w/camera to replace the CHMSL that came with the truck w/o the camera. The part number for the CHMSL w/camera is NL3Z-13A613-A MSRP is currently $611.39 and can be bought new online in the $430's.

I have a used CHMSL w/camera from a 2021 F150. If you locate a used CHMSL w/camera you want to confirm it also has the wiring harness with the 12-pin gray plug to connect with the harness in the roof of truck behind the CHMSL.

I think with the correct module configuration changes using FORScan is all that is needed to enable the camera. That is where I am at this point, looking for the additional coding changes to get the camera to work.

My truck is a 2023 Lariat 502A w/ 360-degree camera, FX4 & Max Tow. The camera was "removed" during the build in late Feb 2023.

Another thing to do after I did after physically installing the CHMSL camera and making all the above FORScan changes except for the missing 706-03-01. I am not sure if it is necessary but I ran BCM (BdyCM) is running the IPMA Local Interconnect Network Network (LIN) New Module Calibration. The wiring schematics to the CHMSL camera show one of the wires labelled as circuit "VMF-33 camera-LIN". (corrected 7/8/2023 - changed running the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) New Module Calibration to under IPMA from BdyCM per recommendation of Jesse-Infotainment)

The LIN new module calibration procedure is to be run for installing a new 1) rearview camera 2) rain sensor module 3) intrusion sensor module 4) battery monitoring system module

The BdyCM IPMA LIN New Module Calibration can be found in the module list after clicking on the wrench symbol on the left side of the FORScan screen.

Can you edit this to make the LinBus be the LinBus under the IPMA.

I didnt notice it said the BCM until now. THe lin Bus needs to be run under the IPMA options.

I dont see the camera connection wiring harness. Was yours tucked in? I will grab a scope to look for it.

edit: the connector is held in place with the clip in the center hole. after releasing the clip i was able to pull the connector out enough to unplug it. I then hooked up the new lamp with camera. Now time to program.

Has anyone installed the Morimoto 3rd brake light w/camera instead of the Ford, as an option and re-activated the feature in FORScan? I'm assuming it would work fine since it's supposed to be a direct replacement but I tend to measure 3x before I cut.

It will fit fine, but I think you still need to purchase the camera assembly itself, which is very difficult to find new and used. The fore scan is just changing two numbers to letters.

That's why I asked because that light has the camera, so I'm not sure which assembly you are referring to. Seemed like it would be a straight up swap, as if it were a Ford light w/camera.

Ohh I didn’t think it had camera. It’s pretty straight forward. Just look where I’m pointing. You have to remove this locator in the roof panel then you have your connector for camera. The forscan is at begging of this thread I believe.

For $200 it's worth seeing if they left the cable assembly in mine when Ford deleted the camera. If I also have to get the cable assembly and run it into the dash I'm not sure I need it that bad.

True. From what I've read, the wiring harness should be there but just to be safe, I'll remove the stock one and take a peek before I order.
