Any OpenRoad truck caps in the wild?

The OpenRoad truck cap looks like a great option, and with their current sale is by far one of the cheapest options out there.

But I can’t find a single image of one installed on a newer F150.

I like that it has steel rails on top. I plan to use it as a lumber rack, so thinking those rails will be more sufficient than the standard low profile aluminum rails on other racks.

Anyone have experience with one?

A lot more utility than a standard Leer topper. Like I mentioned, I need something that will double as a lumber rack. And lumber racks look terrible on the F150.

The photo above doesn’t look like a bad fit. It’s not super tight to the cab but not egregious. I’ve seen worse.

Get a custom made rack not the crap they sell at stores. I welded up a great rack for 21 f150. It looked great matched the profile of the truck and can carry more than the truck is spec’d for. I would send you pictures but I deleted them when I sold the truck

OP, buy what you want and don't concern your self with opinions on looks. It's a cap. It can be easily removed if a future buyer doesn't like it.
looking at the picture posted by moritzes that step in at the front would be something to investigate might be a leak point.

After several $3K plus quotes I started scouring FB marketplace. Within 2 weeks a found a guy with a 22 (same as me) but white. Bought it for $1100. (actually $900 and a low end trifold hard toneau).

I think what your looking for is input on fit, sealing, wind noise, etc.

FWIW, I got some comments about leaving the cap white on a carbon grey. Several opinions that I needed to color match. While I think color matching ends up looking like an Expedition. Not a look I care for. But that's my choice, everyone should do what they want.

isnt the openroad just a rebranded alibaba cap? I ordered an alibaba cap since i wanted an aluminum one with cab pass through and nobody makes one for us in the US
