Soon there will be a yearly subscription to activate the push to start button.
Or a charge per rotation of a tire. But wait, 4 tires on a truck means 4x the profit!

They can eliminate the "Keep both hands on the wheel" notification. Just took a trip in our 2024 KR, and it kept coming on all the time, even with BOTH hands on the wheel.

That will be shut off today, when we get the truck un-loaded !!!!!!!!

All it is looking for is slight steering input. You can accomplish this with a single finger on the wheel. Just give it a light, constant pressure either right or left and it'll be happy.

The only items I lost between 21 and 24 Lariat were... 1 the hvac dials with the temps. I've gotten used to seeing the temps on the screen, so no biggie here, 2. Tailgate step ladder, automated tailgate and plastic inside tailgate , which i wasn't a big fan of either - the ladder created an unsealed gap in the top of taigaite, which allowed water into the inside of the tailgate and motor on the tailgate failed after 2 years and the ppasrltic inside tailgate just got tore up wjen using the truck for work stuff. 3.front camera washer on bottom of Ford oval - used once in 3 years just to try it out, 4.red/brown dash and armrest accents - just never understood the contrast. I had a completely blacked out truck, so it looked out of place for my tastes. So pleased that stuff was deleted on this Lariat. I use my pavement princess for work - towing 8-9k lb equipment, pulling stranded vehicles safely off the roadway, (once), powering my well and hvac when the power goes out. The 24 gained the hud, blue cruise, powerboost (discounted by $1,900), BAP, dual exhaust, 22 inch wheels, steel leaf springs and a much better paint job (same agait black, but much deeper, shinier black and much less orange peel). Ill take the deletes over the added items. They're more in line with want i prefer.

Best of luck op with you decision

My 502A optioned 2022 Lariat is not even available anymore. 502 and Lariat ain't what it used to be. You have to go to King Ranch to even start to get what I got.
It's like they are moving in on the Lariat on both sides. XLT now has dual climate control and you could get leather on a 303A. Also the digital dash on the XLT.

I’m sure there are more deletes as usual and it is just a shell of what these truck used to be in 2021. Oh yeah, they are WAY more expensive and bordering on insane with the pricing!
I think Ford has no choice, every CEO knows if I can make it less expensive, I can sell more. But the opposite is true in reality. As compromising certain things will hurt you long term.

I read somewhere Ford had to update pricing multiple times in 2025. One of the highest change cycle they have ever done. It is the pain cycle of tariffs and resulting supply chain changes. No mobility OEM sources just from its home country....

And the long term volume trends on light duty trucks (1500's specifically) is they are losing more and more volume, because of all the expenses related to them. This will pressure (new vehicle) prices ever higher. People do the math on battery EVs and never look back. So less benefits from scaling the product is also a blow to the price level of these trucks.

There is no good news here. Aside from Ford giving out 0% interest loans, to cushion the blow.

The only option I want that the Lariat has that the XLT doesn't is 4A. I'd pay a little extra for it but not $8-10K extra, especially when I don't want or care about 90% of the other Lariat upgrades. Plus other than 4A, most of them are available as options or packages anyway. Makes no sense.

Now that they are self driving they have deleted the steering wheel.

Wow, I had been out of the loop, but I guess I am lucky I got my 2021 when I did. Not having knobs for climate control would be disappointing. Mine has 50k miles on it without any issues so far. I was planning to trade it for a 2026, but reading these comments has me reconsidering.
