So I'm having a constant issue now where android auto will not connect wireless or wired. The phone connects through Bluetooth and that works, however it fails to do Android auto.

I have un-installed AA, and re-installed, deleted wireless projection connection from phone and set up again.

Today I tried to get it to work wired, and it acts like the USB port is dead because it will not even charge the phone, and phone acts like it was never plugged in (cable is good, works fine on backseat port).

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

This happened to me last week. All I did was turn off the truck, restart my phone (Samsung Note 10+) restarted truck, AA reconnected and everything was fine after that.

I have/ been trying to connect via wireless for over 2 weeks now with no luck, and I drive it daily. I even deleted the phone from SYNC and re-paired with no luck. Lady night i turned truck off and on 3 times, still won't recognize its plugged in via USB.

The phone is a Samsung note 9, btw.

Did you get a system update recently on either device when this issue started ? Have you tried to use another Android phone to see if it is the phone or the truck ?

I have only had this happen once with my PIxel 5a and I think it was due to doing a quick stop start of the system. After walking away from truck for 5mins, it paired back. But that was only one time over a week or so ago. Try the step recommended above to troubleshoot with another device.

Sorry not sure what else to recommend. Seems like you've already tried everything I would have. Hope someone can up with a solution for you.

A Google support document was updated to state that several Samsung Galaxy phones are now compatible with Android Auto Wireless, including the Galaxy S8/S8+, S9/S9+, and S10/S10+. The Galaxy Note 8, Note 9, and Note 10 are also compatible. In all cases, the phone has to be running Android 9 Pie or newer with (at least) version 4.7 of the Android Auto app.

How do I connect my Note 9 to Android Auto?

If your phone is running Android 9.0 or lower, you need to download Android Auto from the Play Store. Your phone connection must allow data transfers for Android Auto to function. When your device is connected via a USB cable, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the notification from the Android system. Oct 27, 2021

Hi there, Lee. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Maybe your USB cord isn't working properly? Try a different one and see if that changes anything

I would suggest you forget all you networks and then retry. I have seen issues with people having the same issue as you. I had the issue only difference was mine is an iPhone.

I do not know the steps in an android but the wireless carplay/android auto connects to a different wifi network than the one for your hotspot.

So going in and forgetting those networks should resolve the issue. I would suggest fully removing the phone from the truck also.

Yes this will correct the wired issue also. From my experience

Some progress made, thanks for the suggestions.

Somehow the mobile apps was disabled. After turning that back on, I can get it to connect when plugged in, but still no luck over wireless.

Thankful the Ford account has reached out to me, waiting to see there suggestions.

Edit, I have tried the below from https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...o-if-android-auto-will-not-connect-to-sync-4/

Wireless connection issues
Delete your paired phone using SYNC.
Tap Settings.
Press Phone List.
Select Phone.
Tap Delete.
Perform a SYNC Module Reset.
Power your phone completely off for one to two minutes.
Power your phone back on.
Connect your phone to the USB port in your vehicle. This will pair your phone with SYNC.
Enable Android Auto.
Go to Settings in the vehicle.
Press Android Auto Preferences.
Select Enable Android Auto.
If this does not resolve the issue, continue to tether your phone with a USB port for Android Auto capabilities.
